period 2 activities

power point reviews vocabulary...split class into 4 or 5 groups give them dry erase boards and markers.  Show them the words in  Korean and they work together to write their English translations. I usually give them 10 seconds to complete each one.  The team that finishes first will be the winner.
Slap game- I use the picture cards on page 221.   ::)

Here's a  writing ppt for lesson 9 I made.  I used the pictures from the Lesson 9 Picture Cards document.

The students are in groups and each group gets a whiteboard and marker.  I show a picture and they must write the relating sentence.  First team wins.

The second part of the ppt the students are given the first letters of words in a sentence and the students write down the full sentence.

Hope it works for your classes.  Cheers

Hi there everyone.  Another activity I made.  This one is for the first period, for  Look and Listen on p. 110

I broke up the dialogue into cards (put two dialogues on one page in order to reduce the amount of paper needed).

Just cut up one section of the dialogue for each group.  Play the video and have the students put the cards into order according to the dialogue.

Here's something for the Role Play activity.  If you are short on time for the kids to make their own role play script, here's one I'm going to use with my students.  I revised the example in the teachers book.

For this lesson we're going to be teaching the Corss 'What can I do' song. The students really seemed to like it. It's slow enough for them to read the words as well.  . Hope it works.

Here's what I used for this lesson
The worksheet covers the first 2 days of this lesson.
The PPT 10-1 is for the first lesson and 10-3 is for the third lesson.
The blazing pens PPT is just one I adapted to suit this lesson.
Hope they help someone.

Brainstorm a list of superheros.  Ask which superhero can help you.  Then, have students make a comic about their favorite superhero.

Here is the introduction I have created for the first lesson. There are many different things covered to give students a full idea of how to make the key phrases. In the 'Fix Up the Mix Up' examples, there are some words which should not be capitalized but I haven't had a chance to take apart the layers. I'm sure it won't affect your class or the students' learning. There are also some extra pictures after the main PPT which can be used to make a review PPT if you feel so inclined. Enjoy!

Here are my materials for The Spiderman Game, which i got from genki English, and use for reading practice.

Thorough explanation here:  http://genkienglish.net/spiderman.htm

in short, it's a team game.  each team has a spiderman and a villain. (photos attached.  laminate, and slap a magnet on 'em)
draw a 7 or 8 floor building on the board.  put mary jane at the top.
three teams at a time race to read the sentence (each member must stand, read it, then sit down, in turn).  the winning team moves their spiderman up 2 floors.  the two losing teams have their villain moved up 1.

you win if you get to mary jane, or the closest.

ppt of sentences is attached.
