A very simple game that I made from an idea on another thread.  I will use it at the end of period one.  In each round there are 3 pictures hidden.  The students play in teams and choose a square but picking a number and a colour.  If there is a picture behind their square then they must make a sentence.  For example "I'd like to go swimming".  The number of points they get will be based on how many uncovered squares are left on the board.

Simple review ppt that I turn into a game by giving out points- first for individual responses then for the entire group answering together. I usually use it at the end of lesson 2.

Also, some scrambled sentences.

Here's a good video for the class. You can ask the students what would the rabbit like to do? What would the magician like to do?

For Story A first lesson. Start with Pink Panther - I would like to buy a hamburger youtube clip.  Go through story A with quiz about vocab after, do listen and speak.

For second half of class play a listen-and-draw + pass the bag game. Give students half of A4 paper, they then fold their half of the paper into 6ths. CT asks, 'What would you like to do?' and I say the first of six things I'd do this weekend. We used sentences ride a bike, fly a kite, make a one-eyed zombie snowman, play the guitar, fight a monkey, eat a hamburger. The students then have to draw the actions in each space. I made the students draw me doing the actions so they could make me look silly. Then make six flash cards and put them in a bag for a pass the bag game.

Just a video for motivation, which I am sure many of you have seen before, and maybe forgot about.. My kids had no idea about Pink Panther and asked if Inspector Clouseau was Mr Bean's brother o_O... They really enjoyed it.

Worksheets for Story A, Story B, and a review.  For that last one you can speak the first three sentences in any order you like; and for #4-7 I've attached a one slide ppt file with 4 images.

An intro powerpoint with a few amusing pictures and gifs.

Fun dialog.  Students have to guess the correct expressions.  Missing dialog.

Game 1: Students guess what ice block the polar bear will attack to get to the human.  Correct answer gets a sticker.  You have to remember the 4 correct answers.

Game 2: After teaching expressions "Same here." and "No way." I pretend to tell one student a secret but end with a whisper.  They have to decide if they want to go (Same here.) or not (No way!).

E.g. Teacher - I'd like to psppssssss.
Student - Same here.
Show slide of man swimming with sharks (I'd like to swim with sharks.)

I give them a sticker either way.

Tom and Jerry Game.   Thanks to the creator!

Here is a comic strip template. I gave the kids about 10 or so minutes to complete it and draw pictures. In the last 5 min of class we had a few presenters. I had the entire class ask each question to the presenter.

What would you like to do? Speaking Survey for first or second period. Students will circle the activities they want to do in the upcoming weekend, and make plans with their classmates using the schedule.

What would you like to do? MadLibs. Have students fill out right half of the sheet without looking at the left side. Then fill in the blanks and practice reading and conversation with partner.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
