Some materials:
- Worksheet with dialogs, vocab, activities
- Expressions PPT, a bit more on the past tense
- And a longer PPT with more opportunities for review/gradually building up the phrases

Here is a really simple handout I made for lesson one. It matches what I got of here for fifth grade. I like them to match. It has vocabulary, the dialogue, and key sentences for the chapter.

My usual handout and blazing pens. I think you all know what to expect from me by now.

I took the Avengers game template and used it to make a game to review past tense expressions of when/where and this chapter.

Practice ppt
for the key epxressions. You'll need to add a picture for one slide, as it was a picture of my friends and I.
Deal or No Deal game
. You'll have to add about 4 pictures.
Thanks
to the original creator.

This song is a classic! So I'm going to play it once and minimize the window so they can't watch, and have them try to fill in the blanks (lyrics cloze attached). Then play it again, allowing them to watch the screen (turn on the captions so they can read the lyrics). Also the first lesson I will be reviewing past tense with them, my class is pretty low level so they can use all the review I can throw at them. This blazing pens was created by someone else. I plan to make it a quiz on paper that way they can correct their mistakes and have all the answers written down to reference later!

I found that by reminding the students what they studied in lesson 10 (past tense) as well as lesson 11 (future tense), they understood the key concept of the lesson quite well.
I also drew a timeline and that seemed to help my lower level students.
Enjoy this lesson! It should be an easy one to teach as the students have a good grounding going in to it.

This is a Halloween game similar to Bomb game that I made. There is a different rule here-the vampire. If you see it, one person from each team stands up to play against each other at once. If they win, they get to steal the points. Enjoy

Hey all! I'm not going to attach the lesson plan but a good idea for teaching this unit and something that worked well in my class was to bring pictures of myself ( the teacher) and make a chart on the board teaching the 5 W Questions (who, what, where, when, why) and HOW if you'd like. Use the pictures of yourself to answer these questions the students ask. Kindly as the students to bring in a photo they would like to share with the class and let them do the 5 W Q's and make a chart for the students to fill in as each shares.... maybe this can be done as warm up only 5 students / day ?? good luck :)

Hey guys! Here's a ppt I made to help students form questions in the past tense.
the first 10 slides just review changing verbs into past tense
the next slide gives a formula for forming questions in the past tense: Wh__ + did + person + verb? then i list lots of examples
the next slide is a "right or wrong" slide where i have listed 10 questions about the past tense and the students have to tell me if it's right or wrong. If it's right, they have to tell me WHY, if it's wrong, they have to tell me why it's wrong AND how to fix it.
the last slide is a "conversation practice" slide where I have given them part of a question (like "...did you see...") and they have to practice making a full question and answer.
i hope this is useful to you guys! I think it's a really good ppt.
have a great day!

Here's a video I used. I asked questions such as,
"Where did they go?"
"What did he/she/they buy?"
"Where did they buy the ____."
"When is his birthday?"
... and so forth...
*It's also attached at the bottom of this post*
I also attached a Sleeping Elephants game.
(Kids in groups of 4. Assign numbers 1-4 to each kid. All kids should be "sleeping" - heads down. "Elephant 1 - wake up!" - then this student will put their head up and will have to remember the first word that is shown. "Elephant 1 - sleep!" - this student will put heir head down... then #2, #3, #4... then the group needs to unscramble the words and make a sentence relating to the lesson).

here are 2 worksheets in one document
1. the first one is a basic/intermediate level:
first they unscramble the sentence.
then they fill in the blank like this "When __ __ __ to Seoul? I went to Seoul yesterday." (so the answer there is 'did you go').
Then they answer 3 questions about what they did (eg- what did you have for dinner last night?)
2. the second one is an intermediate/advanced level:
first they complete the question like this "When _____________ ? I went to Seoul yesterday." (so the answer there is 'did you go to Seoul').
Then they correct the sentences (eg - What did you ate for dinner last night? ate---> eat).
Then they answer 3 questions about what they did (eg- what did you have for dinner last night?)
I know it's a bit late but these worksheets worked really well in my class. Good luck!

Hey guys! So I think the storytime for this section is weird...I have devised a more interesting activity.
I have a fake interview with Psy where the journalist asks questions about his past (ex. - what did you like to do? where did you go to school?) and Psy answers in the proper past tense.
The ppt is the mock interview.
The script is the script for the interview with Korean translations of everything.
After reading the ppt, I want the students to make their own interviews in groups - one student will be the "celeb" and is responsible for past-tense answers. the other students are "journalists" and each need to come up with 2-3 questions in the past-tense. Instead of a role-play, each group will present their interview to the class.

Here is another Prezi that I put together. I gives some quick facts about New York. At the end there is a quiz for the students.

Here's a more interesting story time powerpoint based on The boy who was always late, which is the basis for the boring storytime in the book. Here it is on youtube:

Also, you can use Google Maps to do a virtual tour of New York City. Plus there are tones of songs to use as well. I post again when I get back from class :)
