Luckily for you guys, Astronomy is my favorite branch of science. I have my usual handout and some other stuff if you guys have extra time. The bomb game is a bit advanced for many students. I spent a month teaching an after school class about Astronomy and they have a very easy time with the bomb game. If you work with higher level students, they will get a kick out of the game. A few quick questions:

the book says "What do you eat in the spaceship". Isn't "on the spaceship" more correct?

Also, is "how about ...ing" phrase used anymore? I think "Let's ..." is a lot more commonly used.

I want to double check because I found "Do you want this noodle" in Grade 6 (same publisher) and having been in Korea for a long time I don't trust my English anymore.

I personally think it's weird that they say "spaceship".  For me, a spaceship is just for aliens...A space shuttle is for astronauts. 

Here's an unscramble game I made for this chapter. It's a simple format, similar to the Blazing Pens games I've seen on this site, where students must write the sentence in the correct order. I have my students to write their answers on mini white boards, but you could just use paper instead.

This is a good video clip. I was planning on using the same song but with this version- It's a picture of Ernie with the lyrics written out. Not sure which one I'll end up using but this lyrics version might be helpful for someone else.

Some PPTs.

1) Color Memory Game.  Downloaded the original from the old 6th Grade lesson "Would you like to come to my house?"  Changed all the cards and the timing of the animations.  Pretty fun!  (Ss make sentences based on the cards using "I'd like to..."

2) Let's VS How about ---ing.  Explains the difference in construction (verb or verb+ing).  This was from last year's Lesson 8 "How about playing baseball?" but I modified it for this lesson, some.

3&4) Dice Game.  Ss make their own sentences for the pictures using "How about..." or "I'd like to...Can you join us?", throw the dice to answer and get their score.  I used the dice template from the DVD materials for Day 3, also attached [Answer Die].  (Actually only one DIE, but I printed two DICE and played with 3 teams.)

5&6) Clapping Game.  Reading game, actually based on the Look and Speak dialog from Day 2 but I ended up playing it day 3.  When the students are OUT, I gave them a word search and they could come back into the game after finding 2 words.  (You can print the word search 2 per page to save paper.)
