Here is a speaking and listening activity. There are a set of activity cards to practice invitations: "Would you like to ~?" "Sorry I can't" "Sure, I'd love to."

Directions: Print the card sheets (double sided, or just give each student a red and blue card), and print the name tally sheet. Make copies if you have more than 21 students (its cool if there are repeats floating around).

Instructions to students: The goal of this activity is to find six people to do your activity with you. On your blue side/ card is your activity. You will ask you classmates "Would you like to ~?" They will answer with the red side of their card. If they say "Sure I'd love to" write their name down. If they say "Sorry I can't" you cannot write their name down. The red side/card is your response to every one of your classmates invitations.

Here's a super simple evolution game for the speaking lesson.  For those unfamiliar with how it works, Ss must complete the dialogue with a peer in the same place on the evolutionary scale (i.e. ants vs. ants/ pigs vs. pigs/ dogs vs. dogs, etc.).  Once the dialogue is finished the Ss play paper, rock, scissors and the winner evolves to the next thing.  To become "human," the Ss must beat the teacher.

I'm adding the same PPT, but my lovely co-teacher modified it a bit and added the Korean translation.

Hi again!  I took gbird's worksheet (thanks btw!) and changed to Key words section so that the students have to translate the English words and phrases into Korean. I'm not sure if that was originally the case, but anyway...

I've also made a PPT so you can check the woksheet's answers.

With the help of my co-teacher; she provided the Korean translation for both.

two writing activities for pd 4-6
1. Simple Pop writing activity-students can work together or individual to complete the short story with the words given. I Picked one student to read at the end....

2. Invitation puzzle activity for pd 4-6
Reveal each invitation and students will guess the name of the party and date. They can write it down on the worksheet given or in their notebooks. I had them write their own birthday and graduation date for slides 15 & 18.

I used cool and the gang's "celebration" song for this lesson.....

I made some materials for the end of Lesson 15.  Thanks to the original creator of the Gangnam Bomb Game.  I've taken it and adapted it for Lesson 15.  You may want to get your Korean co-teacher to check the Korean, or adjust the difficulty level of the questions to suit the needs of your students.  Otherwise, everything should work well.  Show me love and comment on my materials if you use them for your classes.  Your feedback is  appreciated.

Warmest Regards,
Randall

Thank you.  I took your PPT idea and modified for my Period 1, end of class review.  I added several new situations, and a worksheet to fill in the key vocabulary on.

But, if you want to use it the same way, just go to the animation pane and shift the main text box down until it comes after the word bank box. REMOVED

I like to warm my students up with some visuals using the target vocabulary. I usually take 10 minutes going over these slides letting them practice the key expressions. Enjoy!

I made a pass the bomb game. NOTE: NOT A PASS THE BALL GAME.

I don't know who made it, but I'm indebted to them, as my kids love it!

How to play: Pass the "bomb" (In my case a small ball) around and when the student has the ball, they must say a sentence, in this case I had them make questions "Would you like to...?" Then when the bomb goes off, the team that has the ball gets no points while everyone else does. Just make sure that you listen carefully to the students' speaking, as there were cases where I thought I heard them say it, but their classmates claimed that they hadn't said anything.

I put the slides in between the bombs just as review (I originally tried to play it as a reverse pass the ball game, but it didn't work, and the kids like it the other way better). It's a great way to get them to speak!

*both the directions slides and the bomb slides are not mine! I don't know who made them, but they're great! :)

First of all, a big thank you to everyone who posts games, worksheets, and activity ideas.  A special thanks to Bella85 and ladymp22.  I used some images and text from your worksheet and PPT.  THANK YOU!^^*

I made a worksheet based on the exercises in the "reading" section of this lesson. For some reason, our kids like burying themselves in a worksheet rather than the dreaded English book.  I also made it personal by using kpop references and me and my coteacher's names.  You'll need to change these obviously to make it more personal for your class.

It's a PPT file because I'm not too word or hangeul savvy.  It's just easier for me to design/edit and add images/text.
Hope it comes in handy!  Here's to the final stretch with the 6th graders!

Made another worksheet!  I think I've found my calling...

It's a review Grade 6 Lessons 13, 14, 15.  Simple, just two exercises per lesson.  Feel free to adapt etc.

Here's a game that is fun to do after the Day 2 read and write of the lesson. The idea came from the creator of the memory game. I decided to turn it into a spelling game with hidden letters of the vocabulary. In teams, each student has a mini magnetic board to write the word down (you can use paper too if you don't have them in your class) and they receive a point for each member who spells the word correctly. For example, if there are five people on a team and three writes and spells the word correctly, then their team gets three points. If all five have it, then they get five points.

When the timer stops, they have to hold their boards up and I quickly check each team and award points. Then, the answer is revealed and I do listen and repeat, including the spelling of the word. For example, I will say "party...P-A-R-T-Y...party" and they repeat. And this is followed by reading the key expression: "Would you like to come to my party?". See presentation. HTH!
