Here are some of the materials I used for Speaking and Speaking Activities A only. Speaking and Speaking Activities B will be another lesson. Here I used some of teatoast's materials (such as the layout). Thanks in advice to teatoast!

I have the lesson attached, a role-play activity (in the Word document) and a Pass-the-Pencil PowerPoint game.

In the lesson, we first focus a little more on the question "how have you been" or "how are you doing", and how to generate responses. This will serve as a bit of review for the students.

In the Word document, I have a role-playing activity where students pretend to be an animal of various emotions. These emotions range from "angry" (evident with the screaming ostrich that greets you when you first open the document haha) to "so-so" and "happy". These animal pictures will be cut out and each student will tape one on to his/her shirt. They will then walk around the room and greet each other with the dialogue, pretending to be the animal.

After this activity, we move to the Pass the Pencil game where students can choose a friend to practice the dialogues with.

Hope this helps!

Hi all,

I have never used text books before so I apologise in advance if it's a bit sloppy as I'm still figuring it out.
I have been asked to split each topic to last 2 weeks, and I am only teaching listening and speacking. My school also asked me to stick heavily to the text books.
So this is Part1-listening for Grade 2-Lesson 1
I have also done a PP for the game: 2 Truths, 1 Lie, where basically you put up 3 sentences where 2 are true and 1 isn't and the students have to guess which is the lie. All the questions are about me so if you want to use this, don't forget to change the questions! 8)

NB: I have used material from other threads, which I have modified to suit my students; so thank you to everyone who contributes to WAYGOOK!!
Also in the main PP you will have to change some of the photos because some are of me and my family.

Hope this helps,
any questions please ask  ;D

Sorry, just a note, my lesson plans are in my schools format so I apologise for those, they are the easiest to use.

This is an idea I had that the students could do in groups. Each group is given a picture of a villain (except Lisa and Shrek) and they must write a sentence on why they would make a good president. Later they make a poster to tidy things up.

If you guys have more ideas on who to add to the list, please tell me.

i'm only teaching the speaking and listening sections, here is my powerpoint for winter vacation. games that can be played using the vocab include the whisper game (very effective) and also bingo.

the last slide is one i used for generating whisper game phrases and bingo squares. its not part of the lesson.

Here is my lesson for the speaking part of Lesson 1: Yujin for Class President (I only teach the speaking part of the textbook). I think it's pretty self-explanatory, I explained making suggestions, introduced some of the key phrases from the textbook used for making suggestions, and then have an activity at the end where I show the students pictures and they guess what suggestion is being made. There is also an activity where they have to say what I did this weekend/vacation using past tense. It took up an entire 45 minute lesson. Hope someone finds it useful :)
