Nothing posted yet. Well, I deviated from the book and based my first lesson on a journey to Everest. Students will complete a word search, learn some new words, then watch a powerpoint while filling in the gaps in sentences. Afterwards, they'll answer some short questions related to the power point. Finally, we will watch a video documenting the ascent to Everet taken from a helmet cam.

I had to do A & B for my class, but the "stickman" game I added in is a pretty fun review.
The way it works is that each team gets a stick figure, and the goal is to make the stick figure "disappear" by getting the right answer.

Make them alternate who answers, and use whiteboards.

I've pieced this together from a few different lessons I found on here or on the old thread. Thanks to those whose original material went into it.

PPT intro/overview, listening activity (the teacher reads while the students listen and write). I read the passage twice. First without the ppt, then with it so students can check their answers. PPT on how to ask for spelling and then a spelling bee game. I split the students into groups of four for this game. If there was time left I showed them a video of a climb up Everest from youtube.

This is my second lesson on this chapter, mostly a review of the previous class. Includes a warm up game, review of vocab from last class, a hotseat game, and a crossword activity. For the crossword activity give half the class A Crosswords and Half B. They write in hints for the words they have. Then, they get with a partner to exchange hints using the dialogue at the bottom of the page. Also, I forgot to write in 6 down in the crossword. The word is "wrong."
