Here's mine for Grade 1, Lesson 2.  I went waaaaaay off the reservation with this one, involving horoscopes to go off the "birthday" and "likes / dislikes" themes.  Have no idea if this will crash and burn, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow and report back!  FYI, before going into the horoscopes, I'll give the students the attached handout for them to take notes on the slides.

(As an aside:  I'd be so pissed if I were Hana or Duna.  Their mom had a brilliant opportunity to make a chocolate cheesecake....but nooo, how about a sweet potato cake that pleases neither of them! :P)

p.s. the font I used is called "Just the way you are" and it is here: https://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=603

p.p.s. I did a "pass the bomb" game with the kids today and they loved it. When the bomb blows up, ask the first student "When is your birthday?"  Make them answer in the target grammar : "My birthday is ____."  Then, the next time the bomb blows up, ask that student what the previous student's birthday is.

p.p.s.s. - For lower level students, SKIP the horoscope stuff!  Or use a version posted later in this thread: http://waygook.org/index.php/topic,5015.msg64345.html#msg64345
Better yet, just skip my lesson and go ahead and use that one for any levels...

Year 1, Ch 2, My Twin Sisters
Family tree activity, family survey speaking activity, focusing on "she likes ___." "He likes____."

For very low level classes. You should change the pictures to you/your family...
I did this activity last year also. When you have your KET give instructions in Korean, have them say that it's okay to lie - at least in my neighborhood, a lot of students don't have fathers and it's a kind of sore spot. So, we're saying that it's okay to make-up family members if they want to.

Here is what I did with my grade 1 students for lesson 2. They went crazy for the game that I played with them at the end.

I first reviewed the introductions part from lesson 1. I know a lot of my students knew this already but a review for some of the less advanced students kind of gives them something to work with.
I then have them go over the jack and Zack and real life scenes. I ask them questions to see if they understood.
That part takes up a majority of the class time. NEXT is the activity.
I laminated the words and made them HUGE so that they were easy to see and I could reuse them for another class. I divided the class in two groups and had them move their desks so there was a large empty space in the middle. Each group got the same set of words.
I then read the sentences aloud and the first group to stand in front of me with the words in order and say "FINISHED" got the point.

Let me know if this helps :D

Lesson for Grade 1 Chapter 2 - "How are you?"

Enjoy, modify...

:)

The small emoticons are meant to be cut up and given to pairs.  So, you need one page/pair.

They are to practice asking, "How are you?"

And the other student draws a picture and responds with the emotion of the picture.  For more advanced students you can have them say why they feel that way and make something up.

Grade 1, lesson 2: scrapped the very complicated horoscopes activity I did last year (posted further upthread), and instead, did a fun little birthday activity.

First, I asked the students what sort of presents they wanted.  This got pretty much all the students excited as they talked about all the things they want ("smart phone!" "computer," etc).  Then I handed out little pieces of paper and had them write down three presents.  Once finished, I collected the papers, shuffled them and redistributed them among the class.  This led to amusing results, because a lot of the girls had written down the names of popular Kpop boy bands; the boys who were recipients of these presents were pretty disgruntled

I did this last week, and I think I'll continue it by having the students write a story / comic about what they will do with their presents.

I used Sister Sister today for my first graders and they enjoyed it. I don't think subtitles are necessary. My students are lower level and they understood the gist of the clip  :D

My Twin Sisters (lesson 2) and the mid term speaking test which was largely based on this lesson. The students really enjoyed this. I thought they would think it was really lame, but they had lots of fun.

Middle School Grade 1 Lesson 2-How are you doing?

I'm sure some of you are having the same issue of getting the response-'I am fine thank you and you?'

I did this lesson and gave them some new ideas of things to say (hungry, tired, happy, sad, angry, etc.)  I showed them pictures of different emotions and then had them explain the meaning of each emotion.
I then had a student come up to the front of the room, would show her a picture, and she would act out the emotion to the class.  The class would then guess which emotion she is feeling.
After this and making sure the students understood each emotion we played hot potatoe.  We threw a ball around the room listening to one of their favorite songs.  When the music stopped the person holding the ball had to stand up and say how they felt.  They weren't allowed to say the same thing the person right before them said and they could not say I am fine.

The girls really seemed to enjoy the game.

Hi~

These are some worksheets that I personally made. They are related to Grade 1 Lesson 2 about daily schedule or daily routine activities.

These worksheets include reading, sentence practice, surveys, and writing practice.  Lots of vocabulary in context.

Also including some flashcards found elsewhere on the internet.

Enjoy~

Hi

This is old, but it will be great for next year.  I put A LOT of work into these worksheets. They were the basis of my speaking test.

This is material for Grade 1 Lesson 2.  It is all about daily routine expressions.  It includes speaking, reading, and writing.

Let me know if it's useful :D
