I'm going to start using these books this semester.  Last semester I had to make my lessons from scratch.  How are you using these books? Are you having the students do the exercises or just make your own lessons using the information in the book.

I'm not too sure what the best way to go about this is.

How have u been using the book?

This is my first time using the book, I'm making up lessons using the book as a guideline, not sure if I will use the activity book that comes with it or not. I guess I still have another week to plan lessons before I start teaching. I have only found 1 other person using this book, guess they aren't very common. I will post any lesson plans I make on this thread! Feel free to do the same. My schools pretty laid back about the structure, I just need to finish the book during the year.

That sounds great! I start teaching next week and am just doing an introduction lesson, so I will start from the book the 14th, I am only planning on getting lessons 1-5 finished by July. Lessons 6-10 will be for the 2nd half the year. I'm working on my lessons this week since I'm not teaching, I'll post what I have when I'm done!

I am bugging my coteacher to give me the CD's...I will probably have the students do a few of the activities.  I also plan on making a ppt. for most of the lessons and then maybe a review game.  I don't teach 1st grade but I have 2nd and 3rd.  I'll post what I do when I start my actual lessons. Right now I'm still trying to think about what exactly they want from me and the best way of doing it.

If any of you start before me please let me know what you did and how it worked out.  I"m not sure how to budget my time neither.

Thanks

My co-teacher has said that I will need to use the CD. She also informed me yesterday that the only part I will be teaching is the "Listen and Talk" part and the Game part... hmm no grammar, vocab, anything... Not sure if she just doesn't trust me or what, but any of the lessons I plan will be to just go over the listen and talk and play games. I will be sure to post my power points! Next week is just introductions. I am almost done with my ppts for lesson 1 for all 3 grades!

This book doesn't seem popular at all!

Hi there.

I've been using these books for the past year. I also only have to teach the Listen and Speak part. It's not that they don't trust you, it's because the rest is the Korean teacher's responsibility. I tried to make worksheets using the textbooks , but my students got bored so I'm trying to find other ways of working. I will post my lessons a bit later.

Great idea!!
 ;)

Just found out today that im also expected to only do the "listen and talk" parts of the books. its quite annoying though because they arent giving me the CD's for the listening part and i will only hear them for the first time in class and i cant understand the instructions in the book. guess im just gonna have to wing it

hey guys, I found a template on here *props to the creator...sorry I forgot who made it!!!*

I have adapted it using the third grade phrases, where they talk about their feelings.
I will drill the lines into their heads before playing this game...
They can use their own pens/pencils if you dont want to use your own.

I will use this tommorow, hopefully it will go down well...

Hello,

I also use the Choi Jin H. Lessons Books for Middle School English Levels one, two and three.  I am having trouble finding ideas for this book, so any lesson plans would also be helpful.  Thank You!  When I have some, I will keep you posted.

Grade 3 combo of emotions and idioms - if it's too long just split up the powerpoints between two lessons.

YES
Really excited someone made this thread. I see the thread kind of ended up being about two other books, but hopefully all of us Choi Jin H. book users can keep this thread alive and help each other out when school gets rolling.
Good luck guys!

We should start an e-mail list and e-mail each other our ideas and lessons---that way, we won't feel alone in the process of this difficult to come by lessons book.  Anyone for that idea???
