The publisher is 전재교육
Authors: Daniel Ryan Keller, 이재영, 문안나, 김명희, 배태일, 김ㅅ'ㄴ혜, 조수경, 전형주

The chapters are:
1) A friend is a present for you
2) London, the cultural soup
3) The disappearing darkness
4) Happy life with a cool job
5) Science behind Sci-Fi movies
6) Hair talks!
7) When disaster strikes
8 ) Arirang: Song of the heart
9) Make a lemon into lemonade
10) Thor and the ice giants

Is anyone using this book? It is brightly colored, with a street cafe themed picture on it with a whole lot of dancing cats, singing pigeons and the likes....

Maybe we can share some ideas if there's anyone using this book?

Hiya!
My second grade students are using this book. Their Korean English teacher will teach it - I am instructed to "do my own thing" not based on the text: BUT experience has taught me that "following along" with my own themed activities that match where the students are in the text is super beneficial for everyone so I like to design thematically relevant convo classes.

So yes...I'd love to share some ideas, especially for games/extra activities following the grammar points in the book.

I just got this text today and am having a look through it...so far I can't make much sense of it so I'd LOVE to talk through it with you. I'm the kind of person that didn't think much about grammar before I had to teach English in a Korean HS, so I struggle with figuring out exactly what they are learning.

Chapter 1 "a friend is a present for you":
Grammar points seem to be:

Language forms:
"No Wonder"
"I'll Do my Best"

Suffixes "-ize",  "-ty", and "-ing"

"If" clauses/conditional sentences?

P.S. I did find a worksheet for the chapter here, although it wasn't much use to me (since it's too reliant on the text) it might be useful for you: http://waygook.org/index.php?topic=10986.0.html

Hello!

My second year students are using this book too. I've been having the same struggles like "whitearab". I haven't been instructed to "do my own thing." Instead I've been given the challenge to actually teach grammar.  Like "Whitearab" I too haven't really thought much about grammar until I had to teach it. So, I try to keep my objectives as simple as possible.  I'd love to share my ideas, games, and extra activities following the specific grammar points I'm suppose to teach. Hit me back or respond to this post if you are interested. I have 2 lessons I could possibly share! Oh!, Also there is a teacher's book with the grammar objectives for each chapter..so ask your co teachers about it!

Thanks in Advance,
AJ
