Here are the materials I'm using for this chapter.  The Speaking Out sections that I'm required to cover are pretty simple so I added some filler with rebus puzzles.  They need some explaining for the students to get but I've been surprised at how some of my lower-level students have taken to them so quickly.  More examples can be found through a simple Google search so feel free to substitute.

For my lower level students, I let them complete the in-PowerPoint Dream Vacation fill-in the blank; for my  higher level students, I had out the attached worksheet.

This is a complete lesson for Chapter 10, Part I.  It covers Listen & Speak 1, "I want to ..." and "... because ..."

The L&S material is pretty simple for this chapter, and reiterates some of what the previous chapter touched upon, namely giving an opinion.  I go through some examples of things the students might "want to do" and explain about giving a reason or opinion to the question "why?" (which covers the "... because ..." expression).  Do Listen & Speak 1, Parts A & B.

One handout is a simple sentence matching activity.  Five sentence fragments, one side containing "I want to ..." and the other side containing the reason why.  The students match the two phrases to make a complete sentence.  Have them read the answers aloud for speaking practice.

A second handout goes with the Writing game in the PPT.  This activity has been used by myself and others on Waygook before, so you may be familiar with it.  Instructions available in the Lesson Plan if you're unsure.

I also included the Bang Bang Game, which I haven't had time to use yet but which can fill the remainder of the time (if you have any).  Instructions for that are in the BangBang PPT.

As always, make sure the audio files are saved in the same directory as the PPT and everything should work fine.

Here is my PPT from Lesson 7B (Did you hear about ____?) I also taught "Guess what!" and "You know what?" in this lesson, so it can also be used for Lesson 10B. It has a game at the end that took me ages to put together!! Hope you find it useful~^^

Thanks for the upload, it gave me some good ideas with starting this lesson.  Just a question, do you have the answers for the "You Know What?" game you posted?  For some of the questions there is no slide that shows the answer; I can figure out some of them but the others I don't know.

Really nice format, by the way.  I plan on using this in my lesson for next week.

Here is a complete lesson for Chapter 10, Part II.  It covers Listen & Speak 2, "You know what?"

There isn't a lot to go on with the key expressions, so there is a lot of repetition in this lesson.  However, this being the last chapter in the textbook, I've made it as fun a lesson as I can.

There is an Angry Birds board game, where students play Rock Paper Scissor instead of dice to move around the game board.  They land on a square, say the key expression plus what is written in the square, and the other students in their group choose 1 of 2 responses written on the board.  It's very simple and the kids love it!

There is also a You Know What? trivia game, based off of cynicalcheese's work above.  I cut down to 11 questions, played Golden Bell style.  Instructions in the PPT and lesson plan.

As always, save the audio files in the same directory as the PPT and everything should work fine.  Some slides in the PPT have notes; more information available there and in the lesson plan.

Here's a very simple and quick Battleship to practice the phrases and structures from the listen and speak parts 1 and 2.  Hope you can use it!

Listen & Speak 1: ....because....

I struggled to find an activity for this unit that I liked, and that actually involved speaking!  So I made this very simple, but effective worksheet where students can practice expressing their opinions and giving reasons (word doc attached). The general idea is that they pretend to be journalists interviewing each other. Initially I put a whole bunch of numbers in a bag (two copies of each number) and had them draw numbers to find their partners, but it became a bit of an issue time-wise. But I do think it's a good idea to have them practice interacting with different students in English, instead of their usual desk-buddies. Up to you.

My students had a lot of trouble expressing their ideas in English so my coT and I were running around helping with vocabulary. But so long as you don't mind a busy lesson, it's certainly a good lesson which drives home the point of the unit. (try emphasising using adjectives to give reasons, rather than trying to form long-winded explanations that they don't have the vocab for)

Hope it helps!

Listen & Speak 2

Since unit 10 is so similar to unit 9 I didn't spend much time on L&S2. I did basic review, did the textbook activity, then moved on to an elementary school bucket list lesson. I know what you're thinking, but it's perfectly fine for MS students. In fact, it's a down-right good lesson to do with them.

p.s. I played this youtube video for the bucket list lesson (optional) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oABEGc8Dus0

Enjoy!

Thanks davis.brennanj for the Dream Vacation idea! I'll be using that material. I also found this video that goes well with the lesson. "8 Dream Vacations You Can Actually Afford" by Buzzfeed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJTivba0YJ4 or you may download it. I have attached the file as well.
