Used this for demo class...it was OK. About everday activities and making suggestions. Like everything I post, this is nothing revolutionary.
If you use this one, please throw me a bone for Lesson 3!

Here is a Bingo game for the "Do you want to..." vocabulary. I have not used it yet but I think it will do great.

Here is what i used for Lesson 2 for this book with the target phrases "Do you want to - Yes I do./ No I don't." And "Let's/How about we/Why don't you" for ways to make suggestions. I recycled some parts from a suggestions lesson from last year that focused more on giving advice for a problem. Ignore the Slang, Idiom & TT at beginnign of PPT. Did simple review at beginning - they have to make the target sentence from the pics. Printed out paper thumbs with target response on it for "Do you want to.." slides and called on individuals to vote and answer & make a suggestion if they didnt want to do it. (Print however many your largest class in and just re-use each time). Gave candy for the matching slide since some words were new & they went crazy. For Thumbs Up 7-up game, i chose 5 students to push down thumbs. Before they can guess, they have to draw a sentence strip from a cup and make a suggestion. I found it easier to line them up in front when they are making suggestion and repeat what they say loudly so everyone is engaged. Then have them point or say name to guess.

Here's the basics of my lesson 2 ... Obviously, I extend around the slides on the board and with specific questions/responses, but the basics are here.
Just covers the book really, but I added a bit extra for accepting/declining and for times/dates.
I made my own board game that was bigger and more fun than the one in the book... But, I can't upload it.
I taught week 1 already and it went pretty well until the new vocabulary came in. If you take out the dates and excuses, it maybe better.

Hello!
I am uploading a
Lesson 2
,
Listening & Speak 1
presentation and game. I teach one chapter in two parts so the focus is mainly on
"Do you want to..."
.
The PowerPoint presentation is very simple and themed with the Simpsons.
The game after the lesson is fun. It's a guessing game where the students use whiteboards in groups. The instructions are in PowerPoint for the game.
*I noticed the students sometimes write down very unique
, but not wrong, answers.
For example, 'Do you want to
draw the picture
?'
'Do you want to
play the computer
?'
So I put the most common answers in the PowerPoint and if I noticed most students use these uncommon answers I reward them the points but tell them it is more common (or less awkward) to use the phrases in the slide. I teach low level English students so reward points/edit slides according to their levels.
Otherwise they loved writing on boards and talking in their groups. I also made each group read their answers together to continue to drill the key phrase.
Enjoy

Hello!
I am uploading a PowerPoint presentation of
Lesson 2 Listening & Speak 2
. I teach the one lesson in parts, across two weeks, so the main focus is on the key phrase, "why don't we...". I included the key phrase "do you want to..." in the slides to help create the context for making the suggestion, "why don't we...".The PowerPoint is simple, mainly to drill students and enforce memorization of the key phrase.
The activity is basically the same as the
Let's Communicate
game on page 32.
I modified the board game so it is
Spongebob
themed. The paper size for printing the board game is B4 and the first two pages of the board game are meant to be printed double sided and laminated. The third page are the characters I would cut out and laminate as their place holders when the students play the game. I paper-clipped the characters to the board game when the students were finished playing.

I know some of you may not have access to the teacher's book and/or CD's, so I thought I would share the unit plan that is provided in them! It has been a great starting place for me and I hope this, along with the other supplemental material provided, will make lesson planning that much easier for you!
