This is a thread for any lesson material for YBM (박준언 2013 release) Middle School English 1 Lesson 3: Namaste. Please share your contributions here. Be sure to explain exactly what you are posting and please do not post multi-level materials in this thread. Thanks for the Lesson 2 stuff. I am a little bit behind on this book due to starting a bit later at a new school (next week). I managed to post some stuff in the Lesson 1 section and will try to get some stuff up on here for future lessons. Most of it will be edited games and things from what I downloaded on here last year - basically because I wouldn't have a clue about how to make something as good as them.

Us middle school teachers are obviously much fewer in numbers this year, and with the textbook being new it would be great if a lot of us could contribute different things that we could use.

Totally agree. I don't teach from the book, as the KT's keep it close to their chests but I aim to use it to make the best of the target language. So if we can all make an effort to help each other out that would be great (not that I've contributed yet).

I did a lesson on body parts and physical features which is sort of related to the Yoga theme in the book, but not really... We played 'Guess Who'

Only just getting onto this. In my new school I'm also teaching writing, and I only see my classes once a week so it's pretty slow.

For the writing stuff, the book is actually pretty good. I usually just use that, and with high level classes sometimes change the page to the blue page in the back.

I'm doing speaking class next week. I edited this PPT I found from what my previous native teacher used last year for 2nd graders, just changed the vocab.

I'm going to go through it with them as a class, and in between the two pages, have them work in pairs and small groups to discuss it and find out the information. I'm getting a bit bored of bomb games and worried they'll become very repetitive very quickly. My students here are pretty good so have no problem letting them speak to each other.

Hope someone is still on this lesson anyway and can use it.

Here is my lesson i used for this lesson. You'll have to ignore the slang, idiom, & tongue twister & change the game part to reflect your own interests of course. They always tend to lean towards black-out bingo so make sure they know they only have to get a couple lines before they win the game.

Here is a collection of photos and gifs of animals doing yoga/exercising. I found the dog yoga photos from somewhere else on this site. And I added the gifs from tumblr. Just for laughs.

The speaking and listening portions of the book don't cover yoga (if i remember correctly), but if you also teach the reading like I do then the pics are a nice time-filler.

Hello!

I am uploading a PowerPoint presentation of Lesson 3 Listening & Speak 1. I teach the one lesson in parts, across two weeks, so the main focus is on the key phrase, "are you interested in". There is a short review of Lesson 2 Listening & Speak 2 in the beginning.

The PowerPoint is simple, mainly to drill students and enforce memorization of the key phrase.

I know some of you may not have access to the teacher's book and/or CD's, so I thought I would share the unit plan that is provided in them! It has been a great starting place for me and I hope this, along with the other supplemental material provided, will make lesson planning that much easier for you!
