@ Simplypanda - thanks for the colors!
I had to do Lesson 6 over two weeks - so i focused on how to ask other people for their opinion (since they seemed to already know how to give their own opinion) on the first week & focused on emotions/feeling the second week. MOST of these two PPTs are from this site on other threads - so thanks to everyone for sharing. I'm posting them here in case anyone is looking for ideas or needs something more tailored to this book's lesson.
Week One - Opinions (ignore the slang, idiom, tongue twister part). Review how to give your opinion, practice. Introduce 4 main ways to ask someone for their opinion. Practice as large group by showing them a pic & call on 4 students to make 4 different questions. Finished by showing them a clip of the TV show where K-idols have to translate Korean to English & then ask them what parts of the video we could ask someone about (ie. What do you think of their English speaking? How do you like the game show? What is your opinion about their hair? etc..
Week Two - Feeling/Emotions (ignore S/I/TT). Review feelings that they know by asking them how the feel right now. Introduce vocabulary (tell them to write down ones they dont know). Show words in sentences, ask them to use word in a new sentence. Hand out worksheet - review I look/She looks - show 4 video clips and have students write a full sentence for each clip. They really loved the videos! Go over situations (if you have time - i didn't because the S/I/TT took up so much of this class).
*You have to download the videos if you want the hyperlinks to work (threw the brain fart video in there just in case someone teaches slang every week like i do)...
Good luck
