Attached is a treasure hunt activity powerpoint -- (just like Battleship) -- that I will use to introduce the mechanics of the game to my first graders. I haven't tested this out yet, but honestly the last time I tried out a Battleship ppt from here the students didn't quite get it. I figure that playing through a full game as a class on the ppt will help them when I break them up one-on-one.
The worksheets (12 premade & one blank for extra games) use the phrases from the book, but the powerpoint is a bit different. Hope this works for you!

Lesson 2: Special Family Weekends Card Game

Here is a game you may already be familiar with, but made easier for the lower levels.
Lesson:
Hand out one card to each student.
Students sit around in a circle. If its a small class you could do with the whole class. Otherwise, split the class into smaller groups.
Spin a bottle (or something similar) in the middle of the circle. Whoever it lands on, the person has to say On the weekend I . (using their card make a sentence) An example
On the weekend I play golf (this person has a picture of a golf player.
The person on the right then continues with;
On the weekend I play golf, and wash my clothes This person has a picture of washing machine on their card.
If the student does not know how to construct a sentence, then they may say can I please buy a vowel or can I please buy a noun. If the student has a picture of a washing machine, then the noun you supply them with may be Washing Machine or Wash.
To make it more challenging, reshuffle the cards, and this time students cannot show their cards to other students.
To then make it even more challenging, play the game without cards.

Here are two classes (maybe 3 if low level) of Frequency Lessons, plus handout plus game
Everything is labeled week 1 or week 2.
Week 1 use handout AFTER the Lesson/game to fill out the last few minutes of class and check on the students level of understanding.
Week 2: The game is to be used if there is extra time left. The activity should allow you to work with students individually to check their understanding. If you don't make it to the game do a review and play the game for as a third period activity.
My week 3 PPT isn't finished as I likely wont need it and so it isn't attached.
These are both modified from last years Grade 1 book Lesson 4. These have been put together from various other lesson plans here on Waygook.
I'm running this version of the class for the first time today.
Let me know how they work for you.
As always,
edit, modify, adapt, and repost.

Here's the powerpoint for both lessons. I taught the first lesson until slide 5, did 'Listen and Speak 1,' and showed the Mr. Bean videos and had students write down the sentences and answers for the first lesson. For the second lesson, I taught the rest of the ppt, did 'Listen and speak 2,' and had the students work in groups on the "Make a Holiday" worksheet. The videos were a hit (as always)......but for the worksheet, I found maybe half of the groups in every class loved it, and the other half hated it. Go figure.

Noonchi game for Special Family Weekends.
HOW TO PLAY : Divide class into groups. The first person reads the first one word only. Each person in the group reads the next word (one word per person) of the sentence in turn, until the whole sentence has been read out loud. If the group fails or falters, the next group gets a turn. The first successful group to complete the whole sentence gets 5 points.
HELPFUL RULES: Any group speaking Korean loses their team 2 points. No nudging or prompting classmates who aren't concentrating. The teacher's word is final.
There is a second section where the students have to read the sentence backwards. This adds a bit more of a challenge for every member of the team to concentrate and pull their weight.
Have fun!

Here is a complete lesson for Chapter 2. It covers Listen & Speak 1.
The lesson contains a short review of Chapter 1 (introductions), reviews the English names for the days of the week, covers frequency words (never, always, etc.), and has several activities to practice.
Some slides in the PPT have comments which provide more information. The lesson plan gives instructions for the activities. I did not include the videos used in the lesson, but links are provided in the PPT slides. Be sure to save the audio files in the same directory as the PPT and everything should work fine.
Good luck!

Here is a complete lesson for Chapter 2, Listen & Speak 2.
Attached are a lesson plan, PPT Presentation, activity cards (printouts), and audio files for the L&S2 section. Be sure to save the audio files in the same directory as the PPT and everything should work fine.
My main activity was an interview assignment. My KTs told me that some of the classes wanted to talk about memories of a vacation or special event, so I came up with an interview activity to give them the opportunity. It went fairly well in class, though lower level students had a harder time with it. I leave it to you to decide whether or not to use this activity.
The PPT has several personal photos and references, so be sure to change them to fit yourself and your class. More information in the lesson plan and PPT comments.
Good luck!

Here's my worksheet for lesson 2. I edited a worksheet posted by someone else for another book, but I think it's genius. I'm planning to do similar worksheets for all lessons of my textbooks. Let me know if anything is wrong. Thanks.

My previous
Treasure Hunt
(Battleship clone) game has proven to be a bit tricky with some of my weaker classes. Therefore, I've streamlined (dumbed down) the worksheet. Here it is.

My materials for M1 L2 are split up into two parts for two separate days. Day 1 covers Listen & Speak 1-2 and day 2 covers Bring Together.
L2 Part 1 PPT
The video for the "What Do You Do" slide is
here
.
For the "mini game", students are in groups of 4 and all students have an assigned number 1-4. When their number appears on screen, all students with that number must stand and say the dialogue. You can have them practice a few times and if they can run through it without mistakes you can give them some kind of reward.
Kaboom Game - Six groups of 4, 2 groups to a team. Start with the first team and assign the A and B part to either group. If they can complete the dialogue, they get a chance to throw the bomb to another team of their choosing. That team must complete the next dialogue and throw the bomb and so on. When the bell for the end of class rings, the team who has the bomb is the loser. It gets really fun the closer to the end of class it gets because students are trying to finish the dialogue as fast as the can to get rid of the bomb!
L2 Part 2 PPT
Simple review, Bring Together, and then Human Bingo game. Students must first interview their classmates to find out what they usually do on weekends. Each answer they get from a classmate, they can write in a bingo square. Then when you play bingo, have students take turns drawing a bingo piece and announcing it to the class.
