2 sided worksheet/conversation guide for Grade 1, Lesson 8 practicing "Can you..." and "I was VERB+ing."


On the last section, one person must be a teacher. They ask you a question, you ask them. Teachers sign the paper in a colored marker, which acts as a ticket for them to leave when the bell rings. Basically, they can't leave until they talk to a teacher.

This is super simple, easy structure, and kids were talking in English about 75% of the class period. I make everybody get up and ask different people. They can't talk to the people beside, in front of, or behind them.

Also, why can't Korean kids snap their fingers? I was the only one in the class who could do it.

Attached is a map and set of situations I gave to my students. Students basically have a date with some K-Pop singer, so they have to take them around town. The Prezi that I made also shows some slides that is related to the worksheet, so you should go through the questions on the worksheet and the last part of the Prezi at the same time (I.E. Question number 1 talks about going to VIPS, and the Prezi zooms in on VIPS on the map.

You'll have to write in the time it takes to travel in between each street and then make a copy of that for the students' reference. I don't have a scanner, so I couldn't include that map.

so as midterms r coming up i thought i would post my ideas for review classes as they have worked well with every class i have used them with over the last 2 years
1. This is simple one. Based on the TV program 15-1. Quickly review the target language from each lesson and then have the students make 10 questions some based on the textbook others just based on general knowledge (makes it more interesting). Each team is given 3 lives. 1 team at a time picks another team and asks them a question. If the answer is correct the next team asks a different team a question. If they answer wrong they lose a point n the team asking the question asks a different team
2Based on the board game risk.  Before class I draw a map of the world on the board.  I then put the students in 3 teams.  Each team picks a country one by one until all the countries are chosen.  Each team has 7-8 countries.  Then one team chooses a neighbouring country to attack. One student comes to the front n picks a normal card which is face down.  The card is just a standard card heart, clubs, diamonds, spades.  The suit n number relates to a question. For example heart is lesson 7 club lesson 8 diamond lesson 9 spade general knowledge. I also make face cards wild cards king you win ace you lose. If the team answers correctly they get 2 dice if not just one dice.  One student then roles the dice.  The defending team then roles a dice n the team with the highest combined total wins.  Attacking team wins they get the country defending team wins nothing happens.  Then it’s the next teams turn. Team with the most countries is the winner.

3 Battleships: Draw 2grids on the board. Make a simple ppt about 50 slides long. Split the class into 2teams.  One team answers a question they get it right they can pick a square.  If they hit a ship they get another go if they miss it’s the other teams go. They have to find 5 ships all different sizes.

4 Bingo. . Make 6 questions related to the textbook all of them should be questions with multiple answers not just yes/no. Then make a bingo grid with 6 squares and put an answer to one of the questions in each grid.  So to get bingo the students will have needed to hear all 6 questions.  Put 3 bingo grids on 1 piece of paper. Make them all a little different.  Then put student names/numbers in a cup have 1 student pick a number.  That student stands up asks the teacher 1 of the 6 questions.  The teacher then answers and the students mark the answer.  The student then picks another number and that student asks a question  Do this 4/5 times.  Then have the student who picked the last number answer the question instead of the teacher.  This is very important as students realises their friends can affect the answer.

My Sonic review game for Grade two Lesson 7- 8 (my grade 2's are not being tested on chapter 9 yet). A few of my questions are Canada specific (I taught a Canada lesson), so please change those. (all credit goes to Daejeon for creating this game).

Edit: two sill typos, sorry. Slide 11 should read 가로질러 not 거로질러. Also, Slide 42 should read 'soft drinks are bad for our teeth' not 'bad for our health.' I am re-uploading, but edit accordingly

Here is my review game for grade 2 lessons 6-8. I used one of the reviews posted for lessons 4-6 and just changed the lesson 4 and 5 questions. Some of the questions are specific to the exam so you might want to change those.
