Here my ppt and worksheet for Lesson 9, Listen and Speak 1.

We just went through things you can say to cheer someone up. I included the Lion King question, as a sticker question and the first one to get it right gets a sticker (5 stickers they get candy).

I actually stole this game from another post, but it works well. My students are in rows, so their team is their row. (It makes it easier to see when they raise their hands.) I show them a picture, if it's a sad picture they have to raise their hands, and say "Don't worry about it. It will be get better soon." The first team to do it, gets a point. (You can play the last team is -1, but I don't normally.) If they raise their hand on a happy picture I do -1 point for their team. Winning team gets a sticker. The kids seem to like it enough. The lightning bolt is a hyperlink to the last slide. The second to last photo in the game is a blue lightning bolt.

Hope you enjoy it.

Here's what I have for Listen and Speak 1....

For the game:
1) I write the following on the board:
    A: ___________________ ______
    B: 1. Don't worry about it.
         2. Don't worry too much.
         3. Take it easy.
2. I practice the first 6 slides with them (twice)
Exampe, for slide #2: A: I broke the window,  B: Take it easy
                                #3: A: I broke the glasses,  B: Don't worry too much.
3. My class sit in 3 teams, in 6 rows of pairs.
Each team gets a chance to go through all the slides once, and is timed to see which
    team is fastest.
4. When it's a team's turn, the whole team stands up. The first pair does the dialogue
for the first slide, then sits down, then the 2nd pair for the second slide, and sit
    down etc.
5. You'll notice each team's set, preceded by the big 1,2,3 slides are in a different order
so they don't know which slide follows which.

Enjoy!

What's everyone doing for the second part of this lesson? I just keep staring at the page like a zombie.

Predicting activity I'm going to try tomorrow to practice "may".
Students work in pairs.
Each pair given 3 cards (half of A4 size) with A, B and C on them, as well as the handout.
I go through 6 videos of funny commercials with them as follows:
Play the video, pause at the point indicated on the worksheet, and ask "what may happen?"
Pairs discuss and decide on an answer (GET CO-T to translate the different options for them)
On the count of three I have them raise their cards, according to what answer they chose.
Then I continue playing the video and they can see if their prediction was right.
A correct prediction = 1 point
Pairs with the most points win!

Just to clarify: For example for #1 on the worksheet - Search youtube for "Add Burst #1 Funny TV Commercials" and pause the video at 00:53 in the video.

I did fortune tellers, and superstitions.

Like, if you find a 4 leaf clover, you may have good luck, and walking under a ladder may give you bad luck.

Then we made fortune tellers, to tell people what may happen in their futures. I got the papers from daiso three packs for a total of 3,000 won. It was really fun to watch and do.
