I'm posting this logic puzzles worksheet and answer key, related to the Listen Focus In part of lesson 8 related to the Focus In section based on the superlative.  I hope that this helps someone.

Haven't tried this lesson yet so I'll let you know how it goes pretty straight forward and easy to follow.  I used the WS from the CDrom for the book!  I just now found out how to get the pdf WS that go with the book.

I created some slides of what they like better on Korean vs. US foods and k pop vs. US pop stars in hopes to spark some interest talking.  If that goes well I'll save the listening for next time.

Questions and comments welcome:)

This is a lesson for the first 2 target sentences:

- I can't wait for the trip.
- I'm glad you like it.

Hope this helps someone.

Will do the other half next week.

This is a fun activity that the students seem to get a kick out of. It's called "Senior Superlatives" and like the name of it suggests, students will be able to practice the usage of superlatives.

I've done it with high school students, but it should just as easily work with middle school students as well.

I've also attached a quick reference chart for students with the rules regarding comparatives and superlatives. There is also a quick worksheet they can use to practice speaking with a partner.

1.8.1 intro.pptx  -   Adapted this .ppt from the previous teacher at my school for the beginning of Lesson 8.

1.8.2 - Review - I will use this to start the second lesson as a quick review before playing the "Senior Superlative" game with them (which is posted in my post above).

I stumbled across this and thought it would be an awesome project for the comparatives section of this chapter. It will obviously take some time to put together, but it looks super cool.

Part A – as a warmer we did the ‘guess the brand’ activity. Then we went through the first page of listening, covered the ‘I can’t wait for…’ grammar part, and did the unscramble worksheet (tori_bird’s template).
For the game, we played an ‘I can’t wait for…’-themed Give Me 5 game, in the PPT

Part B – more brand warmups, using talkalot999’s Icomania template (http://www.waygook.org/index.php?topic=55534.0)
I handed out the bingo worksheet and we played to 4 bingos
Then we moved onto the comparatives part. Introduced / practiced the structures in the PPT, then I showed them some videos (linked in the PPT), and had them write sentences on their mini-whiteboards using the comparative / superlative.  Finished off with pass the ball

Part C
– review. We finished off the listening, and played the Mari bomb game

A couple extras I've been using this year -

'I can't wait for' bingo' - students write in the blocks, and either have students read out one of theirs one at a time, or I add slides with generic answers and they cross off their blocks if they have the same one

'Comparison boardgame' - using the dialog from the book. I find these boardgames always work better if they play 'yutnori rules' - if students land in the same square as one of their friends, that friend goes back to the start

Hi guys,
I took Mlatte's idea for the logic puzzles and made it into ppt using superheros. It very basic but could be used as a good warmer.

Alright I'm attaching a couple of worksheets.  The first worksheet I made.  I took the interview questions from "Topic" on pg 159.  They cover "How much money do you get and spend in a month?" and "Are you money smart?  Why do you think so?"  Later I'm going to make a powerpoint slide where I suggest some possible answers for them.  The second worksheet I've attached is for the chapter's song "Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston.  I got it from esl printables.  I'm planning on just using pg 4 with the students.  It will be a good vocabulary builder for them with the assistance of the co-teacher.  Should be fun.

Okay I'm attaching some brand new ppt material.  I'm probably going to use this material either the second and/or third time I teach this chapter.  In this ppt I focus on the expression "I can't wait to," ways for students to be money smart or not to be, and Whitney Houston's "The Greatest Love of All" song with activities.

After doing a ton of searching on waygook for comparative and superlative lessons I mashed together this presentation.  Hope it is helpful.

I think this is a good worksheet to review the comparatives and superlatives.  Thanks to whoever posted it on waygook first.

Hi guys!  I updated this worksheet I uploaded a year ago.  The powerpoint slide and the worksheet didn't perfectly match up hence the update.  Cheers!
