Here's my powerpoint I'll quickly refer to during both lessons. The first lesson I'll stop after studying "do you remember," then we'll do some work in the textbook and finish with a Bingo worksheet my co teacher designed. For the second lesson, I'll teach them about goals and possibly have them do a "what's you goal?" survey (trying to think of a more exciting activity than that.) I added a worksheet I made awhile ago for this lesson, but my co teacher said it's too difficult for our low level students, so I'll throw it up here too just in case anyone else might use it.

Grade 2, Lesson 1 exercise (Page 11)

This is a gap fill exercise. Explain that each word in the dialogue is in the table of words and students have to insert the correct words in the right gap. I did it directly after A and B listening so students had already listened to the conversation several times. I did it in groups of 4 as I want to cut down on handouts and when students got stuck, I played the conversation again. Should take 5-10 minutes. I only started to teach this book this semester (at my new school). Hope this helps.

Here is something I put together for Lesson 1-Design Your Year.
I start my lesson with the word "Design" and how in this context it means "to plan"...then I move on to asking student's what their plan is for this year ,to get them talking ...once they understand where I am going I share my goal and then we talk about goals longterm and short term......then I follow the PPT .Hope it makes sense.

Middle School English 2 - Lessons 1 - Listen & Speak 2
Here's a Powerpoint I made to review expressions from Warm Up on Page 10 then introduce some more (I had to introduce more expressions to make the simultaneuos speaking activity workable). Here's a rough outline of my plan:
10 mins - Students come in, say hello and start with PPT. Ask students to think of a sentence each for 'It could be.../It can't be..' then ask for volunteers to give examples.
10 mins - Review expressions and introduce new ones. Practise sentences as a class.
20 mins - Simultaneous sentences. Prepare the sentences by gluing onto card, then cutting each sentence into 4 parts [I used a couple of 3 part sentences to demonstrate the activity]. Each team (of four) takes turns to say their individual part of the sentences at the same time. Do this twice then ask other teams to write down the correct sentence for a point. I had 8 teams per class so each team got to practise speaking once (it's also fair that each team sits out the writing part).
Finish

I actually ran out of time for the Listen & Speak 2 part of the book but we can do it next time - I was just thankful that the activity worked...

My lesson for Textbook Listen and Speak 1. The picture reveal game was a little too easy for my 2nd graders but they still had a great time.
