Here's a lesson on giving directions. You'll need to change the name of my school on the colourful maps to your school's name or to something else entirely. Some of the places on the maps are also Daegu orientated.
I'll probably start by eliciting some names of places e.g. bank, post office, bakery etc and then go through the vocab. I'm undecided about whether I'm going to then give the worksheet to all levels or just to my C level classes. It's not really a worksheet, just the vocab so it's in front of them for the speaking activities. If they get the worksheet I'll make them put it away for the final subway activity. This lesson is pretty much based on something Sara Davilla presented to us at orientation and I took the skeleton of the Powerpoint from someone else on here but edited it heavily.
I think I posted this lesson last year somewhere on Waygook but I've edited it a bit for this year and the vocab sheet is new.
Hope it helps! Comments and suggestions welcome!

This is the lesson I will be using next week. It covers directions and has a giving directions activity at the end. I used it last year and it worked well.

Enders you legend.
My cat has a habit of playing with my USB and has finally destroyed the one with my work from last year on, so this lesson has just saved my bacon.
Thanks a lot.

I spent a whole lesson on page 85 THINK AND WRITE, "A Trip to_______." Students can either think of a place where they would like to take a trip or write about their favorite trip. I showed a series of picture of the culture trip to Gyeongju. It ties in nicely with the topic of a trip to the past and Korean culture. I tried to illicite an answer by showing pictures from the ppt. and then writing my trip on the blackboard as shown in the textbook. " Next class, I hope to have them make a postcard and present to the class.

I added these videos as well in the beging of class to get their attention. My students seemed to enjoy the powerpoint but when asked to do the assignment in the textbook, I have about a 50% success rate.

This is the lesson I am using this week. It is continuing the directions theme to reinforce it. All the material was found here on Waygook and adapted (slightly!!)

My lesson isn't related to the book at all, but it's what I'm teaching this week so I'll link it here.
It's a lesson about giving subway directions (take line 1, transfer at ~ station etc.) My students have quite liked it as it's a bit different from the usual "go straight, turn left" they've been practicing for donkeys years. All the examples in the PPT use stations from my school area (Uiwang, Anyang, Suwon) - if you're nearby and have kids that might benefit from doing something a bit different, give it a shot
Lesson is here
