Hi there.
Here's what I did for the first part of this lesson. I ended it with a running dictation game. First graders loved it. Just take your time to make sure they understand the rules, and that they don't cheat by tearing the dialogues of the wall, as one student did in my class. Very competitive lot...
I recommend dividing them into groups of four as opposed to pairs to accommodate lower level students, and also taking turns running outside.

For the second part of this lesson I’m going to focus on asking how you spell simple words and how to use the phrase “Do you get it?” or “Got it?”
I make them play Go Fish which I copied from Duchessrachel on Waygook.

I first taught the meaning of problem and advice. I showed pictures with sentences "I'm sick" etc., and students had to yell out "problem" or "advice." Then we did the listening and talk portion on pg. 120 and the workbook.

Then I gave each pair of students an envelope and a worksheet. In the envelope were 10 slips of paper (5 pieces of problems and 5 pieces of advice). Students had to match the sentences and write them on their worksheets. It was pretty easy for my regular-level classes, but very challenging (but still doable) for my low-level classes.

Attached are the problems (you need to cut them into strips), the advice (cut into strips) and the fill-in worksheet (cut in half).

Also the PPT, which was modified from another thread before you get to my activity.

Here is a flick coin game for "Talk 2" and a Word Lotto PPT I used with this lesson.

Here's a prezi and worksheets for the Conversation Zone and Real-Life Zone sections of the lesson. I used TheMountainTraveler's worksheets for the last part of the lesson. I also borrowed pretty liberally from Leo Fuchigami's Weird Food Lesson for Part B.

Where's the KPOP star? reading game (adapted from Where's the monkey? - thanks to the original creator).

My middle school 1st grades are TERRIBLY quiet but any excuse to squal over KPOP stars definitely changes things.

There's also a Mission Impossible running dictation game with vocab from the lesson and the accompanying posters.
