Agreed. I'm on my first year at a public school and not too sound too cliche or anything...but I cannot imagine what I would have done without this site.

Thanks for the ideas, it's a struggle to transform the stuff in these books into something interesting.

Does anyone know if I can isolate or save the video file from the CD-rom?  I'd love to play them on VLC or somesuch where I can speed them wayyyy up or slow them down to a crawl.

Is it off a DVD or CD? You should be able to isolate *.VOB files which is the video and audio if its a DVD.

Thanks again for putting all of this together--I use these books, and while I don't HAVE to teach from them, sometimes it is a good thing to fall back on.  Again, this is a great resource!

Great thread! My school uses this series and to be honest... I have no idea how they do. I mostly just see the gist of what the section is about then make something up to cater to the kids.

I did 2 painful years with these books without waygook.org and this thread in particular
the words 'pulling' and 'teeth' spring to mind when remembering those lessons
some great ideas and PPT material here  and  above all the feeling of being in a little community  :)
this year my lessons are a lot easier and my prep time has been reduced a lot
I usually add to any ppts to suit my classes (all girls) and will try to upload any ppts with changes I have made in the future

Hi there, I'm trying to get into Lesson 2: My School Bus so that I can upload a PPT I made for this topic but it says the link is broken or missing. Any help?

Just wondering where (how far) you are with the lessons... I spend 2 weeks on them at my one school and 3 (6 lessons!!! ???) at my other school...  I'd like to contribute to the lesson topics roughly when everyone's busy with them... thank goodness for my 2weeks per unit school for that.

So at one school I'm starting lesson 3 next monday and at the other I'm starting lesson 3 this week. (for all grades)

It's the same at my school except they started a bit early which means I'm finishing up with lesson 3 and probably starting 4 next week. Although some of the CT takes longer wih some lessons than others. I'm just posting as I go along.

Has anyone been able to find an easy way to access the websites for the Grade 1 and Grade 3 textbook? Someone posted the direct link for the Grade 2 textbook website before. http://textbook.doosandonga.com/update/mid_enkim2/ETBookBase.htm

My co-teachers still haven't helped me log on to the primary site (after repeatedly asking) and don't have access to the CD/DVD. Magically, they say the books were already loaded on their laptops.
