Would you be able to attach it in .doc comaptible format? my laptop at school has the old version of Word, and downloading the comaptible driver is almost impossible as everything is in Korean! thanks!

I really like your powerpoint. The pics are awesome! Could you please just explain to me what the airplane game is? Much appreciated.

Oh yes. I set up a few boxes of varying distances and sizes from an arbitrary line, and assigned them points according to their difficulty.

My class sizes typically have 40 students, so I gave every two students a piece of scrap paper where one person cuts it in half, and the other person gets to choose which side they want. They are to make their own paper airplanes.  They were divided into 4 teams and for each question two representatives are to raise their hand as fast as they can.

Basically each student that answers a question correctly can fly their plane into the boxes for points.

To be honest with you, the activity only worked with higher level classes. (The planes were distracting the students from learning) I modified it a little bit, to "PAPERBALL GAME," so now they are throwing 2 of the 4 paper balls into the boxes instead.

Thanks. I have the most passive boys you could possibly imagine. Not even Daejeon's games excite them, so maybe some paper balls will do the trick!

Hey guys, I've got this for an open class in two weeks but have to get prepared now.  I'm looking for a video under two minutes that shows a variety of volunteering opportunities.  If you know of anything, please let me know so I can put it into my prezi.

Second, my co-teacher has shown me something fabulous for those of you writing all of your lesson plans.  Apparently on the textbook DVD are lesson plans for everything in the book including our speaking lessons as well as additional activities and worksheets.  So here's the lesson plan for lesson 6.  Hopefully some of you can use it.

I started teaching this lesson today and have combined some of the lessons above and made my own crossword to go with the terms from the lesson. Learning about the different names of the doctors is really useful and the co-teachers really loved it and found it useful too. I wrote the names of all the different specialists on the board when they were doing the crossword for spelling purposes and corrected it with the students before the bell rang.

I'm doing this for an open class so here are the things I've put together so far... There will be a prezi with a video as well.  My co-teachers and I will actually be making the video so it should be pretty fun.  The role play file is the one I'll be using for the video.  Hope you enjoy what's done so far!

Here's a Mario Blast game to go with it as well for when you have time...

And last but not least, the prezi to go with the whole thing.  It's very similar to the powerpoint but I had to make the powerpoint as a backup since prezi has been having some problems lately. Hope you all enjoy. Oh, and the video at the end will be added on 6-13. Cheers~!

This is the game BOSS that I have edited from other PPTs (thank you waygookers!) for my big classes. For those of you unfamiliar with Boss, normally one student directs several others to move into position to re-create a photo. But, I have 36 a class, so I changed it to where each picture has 2-5 people in it. I roll dice 2-5 times and that group is a "Boss team" and sends one person with their back to the board and their team directs them to mimic the picture as best they can.

At the end I played a charade game with them . . .  in groups, one group member comes to the front, pulls an ailment of a hat,  and then tries to act it out, no talking.  The other group members try to guess.
1 point for guessing the ailment
2 points for giving advice.

*** edit *** I just updated the charades cards, so they are cards with pictures of ailments. I'm sure these could be used for other activities as well

Here is a list of problems/advice that go together which I pulled from the exercises in the book.  As a warm-up, I am going to cut the list into strips, distribute, and have students find their partner.  Once they've found the corresponding problem or advice, I will have students practice the dialogue in front of the class.

A. What seems to be the problem?
B.  I have a cold.
A.  Make sure you drink a lot of water.
