English Menu for Class
« on: April 08, 2013, 09:21:23 PM »
Hey Guys.  I have been introducing my students to numbers and want to do money and food next (not all in one week).  Down the road I want it to lead to ordering off a menu.

I was wondering if anyone had a good menu for low level middle school students that got them interested and talking.

Much obliged.

I found these online and used them for a standard "May I take your order?" restaurant lesson.  You can alter them as they are not pdf documents.

Best of luck with your lesson.

sounds like you have some time before you need these menus. If you let me know what you want it, I can make some for you.

I did a restaurant lesson over 2 class periods. The first one we went over a lot of different food, including food from other countries. Then I taught them what is on a western style menu, like appetizer, main course, side dishes, dessert, drinks, ect. Then in groups of 5 or 6 students I let them make their own menus. They all loved it, boys and girls. All the menus where really creative and decorated. Then the next class period we went to the restaurants. Using, "May I take your order?" ect.

I couldn't ask you to go that far.  Thanks though.

That is pretty much my breakdown.  Next week is food from around the world.  I like the idea of a restaurant though.  I may use the make a menu class for next week because it sounds fun and it's a week before mid-terms.
