Thanks for your Grade 3 lesson 12 ppts, Epistemology; I think I'm going to take the first one and pick one of the target phrases and incorporate some more speaking activities to practise it. It's so annoying that my Grade 3s finished their final exams 2 weeks ago and actually don't want to do anything now!

Grade 3 Lesson 12:  Winners Never Quit, Quitters Never Win and Extreme Sports

My 3rd graders are finished with their finals so I decided to let them sit back, relax, and watch some cool videos.

Intro:  Talk about amazing people
Extreme Sports:  Borrowed some material from the awesome ppt about extreme sports made by Leo Fuchigami and edited to fit my class.
Activity:  Codebreaker:  Make teams of about 4 and give each team a codebreaker     sheet (pg. 33) and a scratch piece of paper and a piece of chalk.  Ask a question and show the students a hidden code and they must unscramble the code.  The first team to unscramble the code and write it on the blackboard wins.

A special thanks goes to Leo for the awesome ppt on extreme sports! I have attached the videos for the extreme sports in case they don't work on the ppt.

A follow up lesson to discuss the following phrases:

I can’t do this
Are you serious
It’s too/so hard
It’s too/so easy
How do you think I can do this
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you

PPT and worksheet included.

Your only consistency should be unpredictability.
