Book and DVD recommendations for low level Middle School.
« on: May 03, 2013, 12:23:25 PM »
Last year my co-teacher blew the English budget on classical and operatic style DVDs and CDs, saying that the music would help inspire the students in their learning.

Anyway, ding-dong, she's gone and my new co-t has asked me to compile a list of books, comics, graphic novels and dvds for the English room. We have quite a few of the Roald Dahl collection (the only concession that I was given last year) so any other recommendations would be great.

What works for you? What did students particularly enjoy? Are there any books considered easy and fun but specifically targeted at teenagers?

Thanks in advance for your ideas!

We have been reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid with my middle school students. The teachers and kids alike love it.
