St. Patrick's Day-Middle
« on: March 09, 2011, 10:14:02 am »
I plan to do this lesson with my 3rd year students, but I am pretty sure it can work for all grades. Hope you like. I took some info from other's. I attached a word search from online that they will do for the remainder of the class. Also click on the picture for the Irish Jig, and for St. Paddy's day parade for a short video.

Here is the St. Patrick's day stuff I did last year. It includes a powerpoint and a really crappy looking BAAM game. I definitely stole some materials from the work people posted here on Waygook. I can't seem to find the ppt I actually used but I definitely used the ones I'm throwing up here. Thanks to those kind folks for sharing!

Anyway, I'm thinking of doing this lesson again for my 2nd graders who didn't get the chance to see this last year. The game needs some serious updating so I'll post again once I snazz things up a bit.

I'm totally ashamed of the other stuff I posted.  :o So, I used Sheedi's awesome ppt and made a Girl's Generation Bomb game out of it. I tweaked her ppt just a wee bit so all of the answers in the game would be found somewhere in the presentation.

For the game, you may want to change slides 19, 20, and 22. 19 is a question from the dialogue that we studied earlier. 20 is a question about where I'm from. 22 asks them to name 2 of my future boyfriends. lol You may want to change those.

Glad you all like it. The bomb game looks great Imstuckinglue. I like the tweaks, they are good. I added your Irish meal and American meal to mine. Much easier to understand and the thing about the white house.

Come on you two! Don't start a whole Irish language conversation on here!  :-*

Though it is great to be able to curse and it not sound like we are!

Great lesson, thanks so much. The weather is so nice today and I'd much rather be outside enjoying it than sitting in my apartment planning. So, you saved me! Thanks again. :)

Thanks!  I may pull this out for some of my classes, cause I think they might finish their lesson early.  The Girls Generation template is wonderful!
