What are you talking about?  I just checked out both ppt and your is hands down much better.  The other one is good, but your is more factual and has other things that I could use.

BTW, the names for the leprechauns, are those student names or just random English names that you used?  I may change them with my student names that I have.

Has anyone had success with this?  I think the PPT is wonderful and the info is good and the Jeopardy game works well and all that, but the kids just don't care.  I don't know if maybe it's too foreign for them or maybe I'm just not teaching it well, but they show about as much interest in the info as if it were a straightforward grammar lesson.  They are interested in the quiz for competition's sake, but the first half of the class seems very boring to them.  No matter how much I try to pump up St. Paddy's Day, they don't care.  I don't think they connect with it at all.

I've been introducing St.Patrick's Day in all my classes today and the kids love it.
I wore lots of green today including nail varnish, earrings, badges and scarf etc.  My co-teacher and I are also wearing St.Patrick's Day headbands with Shamrocks and Leprechaun hats on them. 
Used a simple PPT of Pictures and between my co-teacher and I we are explaining it to them.
They have asked lots of questions and are really into it.

Good presentation, but a few historical inaccuracies. St Patrick was born in Wales. Also it very uncertain the day he was born and the day he died. What is certain is that he came to Ireland from 431-435 AD.

I want to do a lesson on st. Patricks day this year and thought I would bring in something green for food? any ideas

Jeopardy is great...but I also found that UNO cards work really well too. I am sure there must be a way to incorporate that into a Snt Patricks day theme.

St. Patricks Day is next week Thursday and would love to a lesson on it. I assume it's big here, because where I come from it's not really celibrated. Hopefully I posted more than five posts to be able to see these Powerpoint Presentations.

I really hope I get the go ahead to do lessons like this on holidays.  My teacher hasnt given me the green light on a st paddys day lesson yet.

Great presentation.  A quick side note though for the Jeopardy quiz.  There are actually 23 countries in North America not 3.  Great job all the same!

Guys, would you teach this lesson only on St. Patricks day or with all your classes the whole week?

Since Paddy's Day is on Saturday this year, I'll be using this lesson all week :-)
