I'm attaching a powerpoint for the first two parts of the Special Christmas story. I basically just tried to make the story a little more intuitive for the students to understand. It's up to the teacher to talk over most of it though. At the end are some practice slides with completing blanks, rearranging sentences etc.

My CT wanted to do all the parts of 'A Special Christmas' (lessons 13 to 16) in one class, so I made a PPT with all of the audio tracks from the CD along with the images from the CD.  It has no other features save for just the story from the book.  Seeing as how many schools will be using a new book next year so this probably won't help many people, but just in case there's someone out there who still needs it.  :)

This is great, my co-teacher wants me to do them all together as well. One problem... I am not getting any audio on the ppt. I don't see any clickable link and it does not play automatically. Can you either upload the audio tracks or tell me how I can find them in a usable format?

Hmm, that's strange.  I embedded them as WAV files and made sure the embedded file size was big enough, and I even tested it by putting just the PPT on my computer without the audio files and it worked!  Agh, computers.

To find the audio tracks, you need to go into C:\Program Files\textbook\student\grade 6\projects\storytime\"  I'm sorry if I got this wrong.  It could be "student" or "teacher," I forget.  I'm not at my regular computer and I can check to verify in about 30 minutes or so when classes finish.

The file names should be something like "l13_storytime_2_01.mp3" and "l13_storytime_2_02.mp3" and so on.  Yes, they come as MP3s, which you can't embed into PPTs unfortunately, but if you just have them in the same directory as the presentation it should work.

EDIT: I was wrong about where they were exactly, but I was close!

C:\Program Files\TextBook\teacher\grade6\projects\grade6\6_13\sound
C:\Program Files\TextBook\teacher\grade6\projects\grade6\6_14\sound
C:\Program Files\TextBook\teacher\grade6\projects\grade6\6_15\sound
C:\Program Files\TextBook\teacher\grade6\projects\grade6\6_16\sound

You'll find the file names I mentioned earlier.

Thanks so much. I found out that your file was fine, just that my dinosaur of a computer has a busted sound card all of a sudden.

Heh, glad you figured out your problem.  Now you'll know for next time if you want to make another one yourself.  :)

My co-teacher and I are skipping story time, so here's a worksheet that students can fill out describing their winter vacations.
You can have students stand up and read their sentences after.
