Adventure Time English Camp
« on: August 27, 2013, 06:17:14 PM »
I did this last month for a story themed English Camp.

Day 1 - Create a Hero
Day 2 - Create a Universe for your hero (we did 3D maps, think opening credits of Game of Thrones, but with construction paper and toothpicks)
Day 3 - Friends and Enemies
Day 4 - Create a "Once upon a time" story for your characters.

We also learned and translated the theme song and another song from one of the episodes during the friend section.

The episodes were borrowed from this website

I did this with a mix of middle school students. Every one was into it and responded with unprompted positive reviews. A lot of the worksheets were borrowed from other lessons and altered to fit with the theme of the camp.

I really like this idea! I'm definitely going to tuck this away for winter camp. Good idea!

Thanks. Sorry I didn't make proper lesson plans, but I wasn't required to.

I'll be happy to answer any questions about the details of the classes or type up my handwritten notes.

This is awesome!!
I'm just wondering, how long were your camp periods?  I'm thinking of trying to use this for some of my after-school classes~
Thanks for the awesome ideas and materials!!

The camp period went from 2:00 to 2:50ish, 20 minute snack break and then from 3:10ish to 4:00ish depending on when we wanted to let the kids go. The goal of my coworkers' day appeared to be to leave as close to 4:00 as possible.
