Law of averages experiment
« on: September 23, 2013, 10:49:10 AM »
This lesson is designed to teach the meaning of Average.  The students will conduct an experimental coin toss and document the results, tally the data and average different numbers of trials.  The lesson will demonstrate the law of averages.  In the short run the trial results may vary.  As the number of trials increases, the average results will more closely reflect the probability (In this case 50%/50%).  The students will enjoy the hands on aspect.  Graph paper doc is included for students to use to tally the results.
