I tried this with my middle level 2nd graders (middle school). I definitely recommend simplifying the rules. The boys really liked it and the girls were okay. I'm excited to try it with my A levels.

This is a fantastic idea.

I don't think I will use it in a full class (a little tough for some of my regular students) but I am sure my after school class will love this.

It looks like a lot of fun and it's easy to sneak in learned phrases and vocabulary without being too repetitive or killing the fun.

So I tried this for the first time last Friday with a group of 7 students I see for an hour every day.

I used PJ Blakes cards, deleted the Bra card because I thought that would be awkward if it came up early (6 of the students are girls) and added a 1 page expansion with a mixture of educational stuff (one of my students wants to be an accountant but can't spell it) and stuff I knew they would find hilarious (cards featuring the principal, the 1 boy student in our class and some sentences featuring the local town).
Printed off (in BW) and pasted on red (nouns) and green (sentences) cardboard.

Worked extremely well.

I didn't spend too much time explaining the rules. Went through them really quick and we modelled one turn.
They were right to go after that, I just had to check everyone had 5 and not 6 or 4 cards a few times.

Some really great laughs and a lot of English used.

If you use both sets, then one per group. The more people you have in the group the faster the game will go though, but you can always play it twice or once they've finished get one group to write a sentence and then the other groups have to think of a word to finish it.

Only three students showed up this morning for my camp and I had group activities planned. I had this game prepared and my kids loved it! They are middle school grade 2 boys.

These are brilliant! Going to use them for my Summer camp. Only slight problem (this is me being very picky haha) chandelier i think is spelt wrong? Maybe it's an American spelling of it? as i'm a Brit, but i thought it was a universal spelling. Anyways, awesome cards and should work out perfectly!
