Fun Lesson on Adjectives
« on: November 25, 2013, 04:44:27 PM »
Lesson I put together on adjectives. There is a lower-level version I did with my grade 1s and 2s, and a higher-level version for the grade 3s. my students are quite low level, so even the higher level lesson is not that high  :P if your students are more advanced, you could quite easily adapt the lesson though by putting more advanced adjectives in.

For the 'describe a celebrity' exercise, I put myself in there as a 'celebrity'. So remember to edit that part of the ppt to put your name in. You'll also need to edit the 'celebrity cards' to have your name and picture in there.

credit to some other forum members who i borrowed some ideas from, can't remember who they are though. and credit to Leo Fuchigami who's powerpoint style i blatantly copied  :P also adapted an activity from one of his lesson for use in this one.

LESSON CONTENTS:
1.) Write as many adjectives as you can (warm-up)
2.) Grammar structure of adjectives
3.) Guess the adjectives exercise
4.) Guess the noun exercise
5.) Describe a celebrity using adjectives exercise
6.) Guess the celebrity exercise

The file sizes here are quite big, so I've uploaded it to Google Drive. Everything you need is in the RAR archive.

Thank you!

After all these years I am the first.

This lesson worked real well with my 1st graders.   Although they are all disrespectful and don't like to listen, this was an easier lesson for me to teach and for them to pay attention to.
Good format and good activities.  Thanks for posting your materials, Johnny!

Powerpoint, especially the older versions, only work with .wmv video formats by default. You can
1) install something to let it work with .avi, or
2) convert the .avi file into a .wmv, or
3) play the video with a video player like VLC by leaving the slideshow temporarily

Personally I've always preferred option #2 as that allows for smoother presentations, though video conversion is a %!@#$ at times. If you're not technologically literate, I suggest going with #3.
