I would like to say yes, but I think that they are not going to understand because of the accent.  I have found that the students find it hard to follow when they are accustomed to one accent, like an American Accent and then hear a totally different accent. 

And since you are talking about lower levels, it is hard to say.  How good are they when you teach them?  that will tell you if they will understand or not as well.  But I am afraid that the accent might throw them off with out subtitles.
