Here's another one of my lessons on comparing using er and words ending in est. I use the Guinness Book of Records to keep things fun and exciting. The ppt file should be fairly self explanatory but let me know if you have any questions. There's a Simpson's game included which I did not make but I modified it to go with my guinness book lesson.

NOTE: I zipped the lesson folder into one file to make everything tidier to download. Most of you will have no problems unzipping it I assume. If you can't open the file, just download WinRAR from the link below and install it. Then you'll have no problems opening compressed files after that.

Hey Shane!

Another cracker of a lesson! The Simpson's game must have taken loads of time to make...fair play - cheers for sharing!

I think my middle school boys are really going to like this one... inventions lesson going down really well. Not a biggie - but there are a few typos on the inventions PPT. Slides 7-15 ''inventions'' spelling mistake, and slide 44 ''and now we use navigation".

I noticed in many of your lesson rars, you have a folder for fonts and require people to install the fonts so things look alright.

Did you know you can embed the fonts you use, in order to allow others to use them without the messy install step? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826832

I thought it might make your life easier :)

Hey,

Actually I'm Adrian. I didn't make the Simpson's game, I just made the main lesson. I modified the game to work with my lesson because it's an amazing game. Big thanks to Shane for his great game.

I fixed those typos in the inventions lesson and re-posted the files, thanks.

Thanks for the tip on embedding fonts, I'll definitely have to do that from now on. So much easier.

My students as well as my co-teachers got so into it. It was funny to watch. They go crazy for the t-shirt video clip.

I found out yesterday afternoon that starting Tuesday, I have an after school class twice a week for an 1.5 hour each. Thanks to your amazing lessons (inventions, bucket list, world records, world food), I already have awesome themes for the first two weeks. Huge, HUGE thank you! You have an incredible knack for making materials that are educational, fit my students' level, and are truly engaging. You should consider doing this professionally (although I do appreciate getting these for free ;) )

Thanks for the great lesson. Here's a short handout for lower students with the basic construction for comparatives and superlatives and a glossary for some words they might be unfamiliar with.
