I decided to do an intro to the lesson on hobbies and social activities. So I downloaded some material/ppts from here that were posted by other teachers on hobbies. I will post them after I have a look at them.

Things are a bit chaotic at my school today - I don't have the teachers'book, only the students' book... My co-teacher's computer doesn't work... All my old lessons are in a folder that was removed when the IT teacher rebuilt my computer... Aigo.  So for this week I will teach Listen & Speak 1 & 2, and then start my students on a poster-making project about making up their own club.  Oh, did I mention that our principal decided that all my classes will be mixed level?  No idea how this is going to work, but hoping they'll see the light after a week or two.  Especially since I have 7 extra teaching slots to fill in my schedule..

Good luck!

I found some lessons to practice "which do you prefer". I haven't changed them to suit my lesson as I will be practicing them next week only. I've attached a template where they can make their own logo for their club (stolen from the hunger games lesson).

Hey guys, my school is all over the place this week so not sure if I even have any classes till next week but I managed to get hold of the teachers guide and made a lesson from it.

Doubt i'll be teaching it until next week but thought i'd put if up in case anyone needs any ideas.

I don't make lesson plans for my classes so if you have any questions, just ask.

Fairly straight forward; focusing on preferences.

Your lesson is brilliant and seems well thought out. Thank you for sharing! I hope I can come up with something as stellar.

Here is a simple ppt I made for this chapter.  It's low level but the students just came back from vacation so I'm starting off easy but the conversation practice at the end is a little more difficult.

I'm going to use these as a bingo activity in my class. Theyre meant for a hobby lesson but I'm going to use the, anyway even though some of them don't qualify as club activities. You don't really have to use the ppt with the bingo templates.

Here's a presentation to practice the dialogue for Listen & Speak 1 Part C (page 10). I've used it once - I just had the students practice with their partner then showed the next slide - took around 6-7 mins. Should be good for review or part of the lesson.

Here's a cryptogram for Into the Conversation. I watched the video first and then displayed the puzzle, asking the class what the first line is by Taeho (Are you Hana?) so they have more letters to start with. You may need to explain the concept of each number representing a letter of the alphabet.

It's slightly different from the script, mainly to get the letters q and z in there. I had already brainstormed types of music, making sure I added jazz if the students didn't, so I could point it out during/after completion of the puzzle. I'd suggest groups of four for this activity.

Sorry, I posted the wrong puzzle for Into the Conversation.
Here's the one for the dialogue.

Hey guys,

Here's what I have for Part 2 of Lesson 1.

Review Preferences
Wants VS Need: 3 parts, pair work, group work, pair work.
I didn't want to continue drilling preferences because my students understand it so this lesson is more to do with Wants and Needs.
Say it right.

If possible, print task 1 on one side of the paper and task 3 on the back (2 copies per sheet to save paper).
If you don't know how to print things like that then ask a co-worker, or just print them separately and use more paper.

There is also a lesson plan. On the lesson plan is another activity for making a poster at the end of the class. I might do that as a review on another day as I think I will run out of time to do it in this lesson.

Anyway, here it is if you need it ^^

I just thought I'd post this since Waygook has helped me a lot in terms of comparing materials. The format for my class is warm up, go over the study point, practice speaking, practice writing, and then a listening activity.

Anytime you seem SAM, it's because I have a shark that has the students numbers in it. He's how I decide who will answer the questions or not.

I also give the students a half sheet per lesson and they glue them into their notebooks.

For the game at the end I just reused a survival game I found here on Waygook! SO thank you to the games' creator!

Having fantastic fun with this in lieu of Listen & Speak 1 C.  It's a logic puzzle requiring "Which do you prefer A or B?" as its only question.

In case it isn't obvious, play a practice run of this game first.  It takes a little practice to put the notes in the right order (unless you're mathematically inclined;  then it's rather easy)

I also added "I prefer A over B" because that's how you write it on the page, and it is correct English.

This is what I did for Work Together, since making posters takes forever.
