This is a thread for any lesson material for Christina H. Kim (2013 edition) Middle School English 2 Lesson 7: My Ant Farm. Please share your contributions here. Be sure to explain exactly what you are posting and please do not post multi-level materials in this thread. Also, any review lessons or materials should be posted in the review section for this grade. If you can't find what you're looking for here, be sure to check the previous edition of the book. Best of luck in your lesson planning!

Hi, just wanted to share something I did.
I went to YouTube and found this video by "veganrexia" called, "The 'Have you ever ...?' game".
I made a worksheet for it.
Just to let you know, my students are pretty low-level (except for 1 out of the 8 ), so just to not make it too daunting for them, I gave them the present tense form of the verb in brackets as a clue.
Feel free to alter to your students.
Warning: This song will get stuck in your head!

My classes are pretty straight laced.... not big on the bomb games, videos, etc. This is the first part of my lesson. I did make some changes from the book and pointed out some less than obvious things. These are the two big things:
1.) making note of "been" as a past participle of the word go in the situation/dialogue given in the book
2.) changing the use of the word "wish" to future tense, because one rarely says "I wish I can..." in English; typically when one makes use of the word "wish" it is to imply something happening in the future.
This lesson includes a warm up game, another simple game involving the instructor providing one word and the students forming a sentence using the key expressions, and book material. I also have included "points" into this lesson, as this is part of my reward system for class.
FYI, if you're using the most up-to-date version of PPT, you'll need to adjust this as it was made in 2007 PPT on my office computer.

I divide the lesson onto two parts. This ppt is for the first week and covers past participles, then builds on possible responses. It's meant to be driven on student participation and asking them the questions and getting a variety of responses. I hope it's helpful in some way.

Here are two worksheets I made for this lesson. I haven't used the writing worksheet, yet. Not sure if I will, but maybe you can use it or make it better, whatever you want.
***And another thing. I thought it would be cool to show Brandy's "Have You Ever" video because there's tons of the expression used in that song. I have the Korean lyrics, but when I try to use Wordpad to add subtitles, it didn't come out. Anyone know of any other way to add subtitles that Google didn't find that doesn't require paying for a program?

Here's my take on the Listen & Speak section. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... I used a lot of the materials posted above and adapted them to fit my students' level/needs.

Listening and speaking portions of lesson 7.
For the "have you ever" game, give each group one set of cards.

An example dialog is on the game board. I would also advise teaching students the phrase
" I hope you never ~" .
