Good stuff. I combined several of these resources together. I made one master ppt using the exiting slides to review the vocab for getting to school (this really was easy for them). Then after some explanation, we did the "Guess Who Your Partner Is" activity posted above. It wasn't a huge hit but they mostly were using the target language. After that I used the "Class Survey" activity posted above where they're supposed to walk up to other classmates, ask how they get to school, how long it takes, and fill in the lines on their page. Let me just say, this was incredibly boring due to the fact that everyone at my school walks and it takes about 5-10 minutes. So for all subsequent classes, I modified that activity. They had to invent a "new and crazy way" to get to school, and determine how long it would take via that method. Then I got some interesting stuff. "I come to school by hamster and it takes 4 months." "I come to school by teleport and it takes 0.001 seconds." This made them a LOT more motivated to walk around and find out how their classmates get to school. :)

That's a pretty good effort on the mario game, good job! My middle school students go crazy during these kind of games, it's what makes this job bearable. So thank you!

This is to go along with Handsome Teacher Michael's "Guessing game in the morning".

I made up another whole page. I just replaced the names and how they get to school and minutes taken and such. I then printed out lots of these sheets, cut them up, and handed one out to each student. They then got into groups by each type of way they get to school. I then had them read out the sentences. My name is...I come to school by...it takes me...
Took up all 45 minutes easily.

Listen and Talk 1: In the Morning

ppt is pretty much just practice for different types of transportation sentences.

game is made with Daejeon's Lucky Wheel template. There are a lot of really random transportation methods (teleport, dog sled, piggyback...) But it was too difficult to make it with only the 5 normal ones in the book. The kids really liked trying to guess what things were called.

Powerpoint and bingo for p. 24 Listen and Talk 1: In the Morning.
I've only done my A classes so far.
I have 15-20 in each class, so I had them list types of transportation (serious and silly... some kids came up with teleport) and practice the target language, "How do you come to school?" "I come to school by____/I ____to school" by everyone standing up and selecting one of our examples.
Then they surveyed 4 other students about how they came to school and volunteers reported to the class.
Lastly we played bingo. My co-teacher and I had them write down their own bingo cards, and because the options were limited we made them get two bingos before they "won."

Sorry guys, I had accidentally posted my grade 2 lesson... that's back in the right place.

Anyway, Listen and Talk 2 - Favorite Subjects. (bah, I hate using the American spelling, why oh why can't the textbooks use the English the rest of the world uses.... )

Anyway, I made an introductory ppt as well as a pororo game. I used Daejeon's classroom tool, you can easily edit it to add more. I didn't put bomb game questions in, but there are 10 images for the 10 subjects that we talked about and quite a few hangman sentences.
I played hidden picture and the board game with my C level students today, I'll probably do hangman with the A level students, and maybe a bit of hidden picture as it was fun.

Pass the bomb game ( includes other modes of transport - dragon, camel, ufo, elephant, etc ).

My co-teacher wanted me to cover pg. 32: Classroom Rules..... just did this ppt but had the students give thumbs up or thumbs down before I revealed the Do and Don't. Then in groups they each made posters about the classroom rules
