Hi guys,
Not much from me, just a little game where the students practice the sentences
"We lost the soccer game. Dont be disappointed, youll win next time."
It's
The clap game
where the students just repeat the target language and on different levels substitute a word for an action or sound (originally a drinking game with numbers).
From the top of my head I have to do the two conversation points of 'expressing happiness' and 'encouraging'.
---scratch that my conversation points I have to teach are actually 'satisfaction/dissatisfaction' and 'consoling'
Cheers

I made this game to review the concepts from p. 20 and 21. The game is B level for my students, who are pretty low level. There are fill in the blank questions with a Mario spin the wheel template. 24 questions.
The concepts are:
When (When I was little, I was cute. I eat breakfast when I wake up in the morning.)
ING form for verbs (Reading is good for your mind. Eating breakfast is healthy. I enjoy playing soccer.)

It was my first class with the students so the ppt also includes an introduction.

This is for
page 11
Intro
and some
examples
of encouragement.
A
speaking matching game
of matching the problem with the correct encouragement.
I've played with the whole class, each person gets one strip and must find their match.
Or you can play in groups. One person reads a random problem. The others pick random encouragement slips and if one matches, the person with the match gets to keep the slips as a point.

I created this lesson based on the Listen and Talk section on page 10. I found the book wording a bit on the dry side for my taste so I changed the question to create a more varied response.

Hi there,
This is an activity I made to go along with page 20. It uses the phrase, " When I was younger/ When I am 25 years old ..." etc. Its played the same as
apples to apples
. First divide the class into groups. Each player must take 4 verb cards. Then one person in the group starts by turning over a sentence card, (they become the judge). The other players must try to finish the sentence. For example: When I was younger I used to ... a) swim with sharks, b) catch butterflies, c) do yoga. The judge choses which sentence is the best or the funniest and gives that person 1 point (I usually let them keep the sentence card). And so it goes with a new player being the judge each round.

Hi! Here are two PowerPoints (some slides taken from here). One covering the two expressions and one covering the grammar points of the unit. Thanks for the matching game elacosse - my students liked it.
