Here's a ppt that introduces "hello" and "goodbye." Also it allows students to practice speaking. Each slide has different gif photos of familiar characters and celebrities waving. The students can (as a class or individually) say hello or goodbye to the different images and add the name at the end (example: "Hello, Spongebob!" and "Goodbye, Pikachu!").

Thanks to the original poster!..I've just changed the Telepathy Game a little; to have students practice writing A-D as well as practicing the expression "My name is.." with the book's characters.

3rd grade has two english classes a week. So my KT and I get through a lesson in 2 weeks (2 periods/week). so far we are following the book pretty closely and adding in good activites/games that go along with the periods.

period 1 (listening) - did O/X game in book and a motion game. hello is hands up. hi is clap. good bye is hit table. i'm ___ is squat and my name is ____ is jump

period 2 (speaking) - motion game again as review. then connect 4 game. can do many ways. i do boys vs girls on the TV. I just pick girls and boys to say an expression.

period 3 - (reading/writing ABCD)

period 4 - white board warm up with ABCD - just call out letters e.g. small a, big C and have the students write the letter if what you say and write matches - we are doing the period 4 business card activity in the book.

I used the amazing resources that hpoole posted above but played a line bingo game at the end instead. Also a bunting craft activity which we didn't have time to do unfortunately.

Hey, everyone. Daekyo has new textbooks this year, but it looks like similar content. Does anyone have the teacher's manual yet? My school doesn't have it yet and I was looking to try to introduce the new characters to my classes next week in a ppt. Thanks!
