That is what I did last year and this year. 90 minute adult classes.
Of the parents that attend my class, there are two with pretty decent English, but the others only know what they learned in school. The adults I teach don't want to learn grammar, but want to practice their English in conversation. I often go to
http://iteslj.org/questions/ and will select subjects, read through them and take those questions.
I print out enough for the adults and have them read the questions out loud as we go along. After each sentence we each take turns talking about it. I will give my example if they don't understand, and it goes from there.
When we finish a Topic, I will generally ask what they would like to talk about next, and then I search the site above, or just search the web for that topic.
