Here's another 4 corners game. Same rules, just with an updated look ;)

How to Play:
- The PPT will show 4 random numbers.
- Students walk to the corresponding corner.
- I will ask each group of students: How old are you?
- They should respond: I am __ years old.
- One number has been preselected (in the PPT)
- If their number has been picked, they are out and must sit down.
- The last 3-4 students (this is completely up to your discretion) standing are the winners and get a small prize (1 piece of candy, 1 sticker, something like that.)

* It usually only takes about 5 rounds to get down to the last students, but sometimes longer if the kids are lucky. This PPT has 15 rounds so you could potentially play up to 3 times, but I never made it past round 2 due to time.

There are instructions and a classroom diagram (specific to my class) included in the presentation.

I used a 22 second music clip as the timer for kids to pick a corner. They loved dancing to it! If it's a bit too long, you can add your own music instead. The music clip is from 60's Cardin by Glen Check.

I played this during 11-2, but my kids begged to play again so I might use it as review during the start of 11-4.

I edited respect_teaching's Spongebob Bomb game to add some questions about colors and break the monotony. Also put in some pictures of children who are supposed to be answer "I'm # years old." Hope there's no broken links. =/

Just a little 1-10 worksheet i made. Just got a pic from internet and hid words in it. They have to find the number word then write it down.

Some Halloween PPTs I used!

Halloween Telepathy writing game:

So I adapted NStonecypher and cyrusbrooks Halloween Telepathy game template (thanks guys!) and made a shorter writing game out of it. My 3rd graders went wild! Especially when they guessed the square with the most pumpkins of course! My 3rd graders are super loud this year (all 5 classes "sigh") so they screamed really loud every time. (They are either bored and talk a lot, or they yell and scream when they are excited, there's not much of an in-between with them

)

Anyway, I also added a telepathy writing sheet. Every student enjoyed and could participate pretty well during this game, even the very low levels, so it was a hit! If they got 15 or more pumpkins (points), they got a sticker. (I use sticker reward sheets with them).

I also made a short Halloween PPT to share about Halloween with them. They mostly talked and only were kind of interested, but hopefully someone else can use it! Please feel free to modify as you wish!

My students are a bit advanced so this is what I did. I did this during the second time I taught the lesson.

1. Play "Big numbers song"

I made the following PPT game titled, "How old are they?"

1. I split the class into teams.

2. I made a PPT of my family members with the question above each person, "How old are they?" or "How old is he/she?"

3. Each team guessed the family member's age.

4. The team that was closest got a point.

Hence, I showed a picture of my dad that asked, "How old is he?". Some teams guessed 52, 49, 67, etc. The closest team got the point. If you REALLY want to kill time, make them guess until they get the right age if no team got it right the first time through.

Pass the marker, when the music stops, that student needs to stand up and choose a block and say the right expression. Click on it to reveal the points.

Here are 3 very very basic activities that will do the job.

Survey - Very basic survey. Give each student one survey and one number (on second page of doc.) I only made 15 numbers because i have a small class. You can print this page as many times as you like to match the number of students you have. No problem if two students have the same number.

All students will then walk around the room at the same time. Ex. Student A) walks around the class asking "How old are you?" The other student replies "I am ___ years old" They will each say the number they received. The student will write the name of the student and the how old they are in words. Ex. Jessica/ Fourteen

Wordsearch - Taken from the web

Numbers slap - The class will, in unison, as the teacher "How old are you?" and the teacher will respond " I am ___ years old". In partners, students will race to slap the number specified by the teacher. First person will receive one point. The students should keep tally on another paper.

* There are two versions, number and words. Will play one on the first day and the other on the second day.

This is my first time posting, but my kids really enjoyed the intro to lesson 11. My co wanted to focus the first lesson on the English spelling of the numbers 1-10. So I made a Halloween themed lesson with the Ten Monsters in the Bed song. They loved the video and even sang along.

Intro- Played the song for the class. Wrote the lyrics on the board. Discussed new vocab: roll over, fell out, bed, monster, goodnight. Played the song again + sing along (at least just shout the numbers loudly ^^)
PPT- Ex: T: How many monsters? S: 10! T: Spelling? S: T-E-N; "quiz"
Monster WS (print front and back): first fill out the front, then students draw their own monster and write "S/He has ___ arms/legs/teeth/wings/horns/etc." sentences.
Present: Ss present their monsters.

Came across this song that focuses on spelling the numbers one to ten. It's actually pretty funny and my kids enjoyed it. Listened to it once then again and had them sing along with the spelling of each number. Happy teaching! Stay warm!

Duck, duck, goose!

(NOTE: Make sure you have plenty space in your classroom! If not, maybe go outside~)

This game is just the kid's game, "Duck, duck, goose." Instead of "duck," students count 1-10 over and over.
Instead of "goose," students say, "How old are you?"

(NOTE 2: Korean kids like to express their love by smacking the living daylights out of each other~ I made it a rule that they are not allowed to hit each other or they risk leaving the game.)

Circles will fly across the screen, and students have to be quick to count them

This is an activity that I did with a class of 20 lower level 3rd graders during lesson 3. I had already worked on reading and writing numbers in the last class.

This activity is a survey game:
1. The students each receive a sheet of paper with places to write the names of others and their ages. At the bottom of the sheet is the said age of the child (I wrote the said ages in as I wanted them to practice #1-20).
2. The students would go around the room playing rock, paper, scissors to see who will have the chance to ask the other for his/her age.
3. When they are told the age, they write the person's name and age number into the grid and move on to another student.
4. The secret is that about 4-6 people have the same age (I had 3 pairs of the same age (10, 15 and 20) running around). The students have to identity who these people are.
5. The survey game can be modified to give a prize to the first person(s) who find out who those "same aged" people are.

I don't remember who I got the idea/template from, but much thanks for the idea. This game took my students 15-20 minutes (though I had estimated 7-10 min.)
