For 4th period review I modified this AWESOME minecraft quiz template by Michael Liang with Busan EPIK. My kids lose it for this template every time. The questions are pretty easy because they're really low level, but I hope someone else can make use of it :)

A listen and color activity sheet for the first period :)
Students ask "How's the weather?"  Teacher says "It's _____."  Students listen and color the correct weather picture.

I HAVE DELETED THIS LESSON AS IT IS BEING MONIIZED AGAINST THE CONTENT CREATOR'S WISHES.

I very much welcome an open source system and am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the sites decision to charge for content. I uploaded content with the understanding that it would be used freely by other teachers and do not agree with it being monetized without my consent. Due to this change I have felt it best to remove my work.

Thank you for all those who have shared in the past and I hope the site will retract its new policy and return to an open community-led system.

For the first part of this lesson:

1. PPT introducing vocab and expressions. Also, there is slide I made with city names. Students choose what city they want to "go to" and when you click the picture it takes you to a gif and the students answer how the whether in that city. Hyperlinks should be working.

2. Listen and circle game. Just print and laminate.  Student play in pairs. One has a a blue marker and the other has black. Ss listen and circle as many as they can. Whoever has the most circles get a point for that round.

Grade 3 Lesson 13

Speaking and Listening Activity: Rearranging Pictures Game

Students in pairs solve a puzzle. The picture in the puzzle shows a weather scene. They will have the conversation "How's the weather? / It's ~." Then, they will walk around the room and meet other pairs. They will have the conversation with the other pair. If it's the same weather, all 4 students will come find the teacher and present the conversation.
If it's not the same weather, the pair will walk around and meet a different pair.

Full instructions are in the PPT.

I have 20 students in each class so I printed 10 pictures (2 snowy, 2 windy, 2 sunny, and 4 rainy). Feel free to use my pictures (word document) or find your own. I cut them into 8 pieces.

We played 3 rounds in 20 minutes, so maybe 5 minutes per round after explanations.

This is great, except it's "SYDNEY" in Australia, not Sidney.  Otherwise, fun game!!

This lesson got tedious very quickly, so decided to do a fun writing activity for the 3rd period.

I bought some plain manila envelopes from the stationary store, and numbered them from 1 to 8. I printed out 8 different "place cards" and 2x4 "weather cards". I put one weather card and one place card in each envelope.

Students split into teams of 4 or 5. One student from each group comes up and picks a folder, which they bring back to their group.

They must take out the place cards and weather cards, make a sentence, and write the sentence in the correct spot on their worksheet. Then, put the papers back in the folder and bring it to the front, select another folder, etc.

The first team to finish with correct grammar and spelling on ALL of the worksheets win a sticker/candy/whatever.

I've done this activity with both 3rd and 6th grade, and students go crazy for it! Easy to adjust if your students are a higher level too.

I attached my materials, and an explanation PPT.

Hope this is helpful for someone getting tired of this lesson!

I made an easy speaking game for part two of the lesson. It's similar to other games I have seen on this thread. Explanation in the PPT. And then just a talk together slide with the sentences and the place names in English. Hope this helps someone

Listening Game (15-20 min) Printing required, one page=2 students

Weather Battle Ninja

I adapted this game from another user and chapter (thanks to original poster).
My class really liked this.
They draw 5 ninjas/faces in the grid you pass out. (print last slide, front and back if you choose to play twice)
You then say the Key expression "How's the weather? It's _____ and _____. If they have a ninja there they cross it out (aka he dies). 5 ninjas= 5 lives. I would say 12 sentences.
When the game is over I pointed to different boxes for class practice. I took volunteers to say the key expression if they wanted for the last min or so.
On the slide that says 'Are you ready?' there is a clickable 30 sec timer. This is if you want to give them a visual clue to the time for drawing. I didn't actually use it. Have fun.

Vocab used:
rainy, snowy, sunny, cloudy, windy, humid, stormy, foggy

***It looks like I left in a few slides for a different grade and chapter. Just ignore and delete. I will post that to 4th grade chapter 11 later.
