Here are some materials I prepared for our open classes.  There is a PPT for Period 1 (intro) and Period 2 (review) along with a drawing activity.  Thank you very much to those who posted material for the lesson in the old book with similar content.  I borrowed your ideas to apply to the new content.

Some song ideas:
In, On, Under (HUGE HIT!!):
In, On, Under clapping song:
Wayne Brady (between):

Here is a fantastic prepositions song I plan on using for my lesson. It's simple, easy to follow, and fun. Hope it helps!

One of my favorite games for this lesson:

Students were in 6 teams, and each team was given a mini-whiteboard.  I wrote the sentence, "Abby teacher is _______  the ________." on the board.  Underneath, I wrote words into two columns.  The first column was "on, in, under, in front of, behind, next to, over," and the second column was, "tree, man, bell, water... etc."

I showed students a picture of myself somewhere in Korea or elsewhere around the world, and told them they had 30 seconds to write the sentence on their whiteboard.  For example, "Abby teacher is on the mountain." Every team that got the right answer got one point.  Students should take turns writing the sentence for each picture.

Students really enjoyed the personal/travel aspect of this game :) The powerpoint shouldn't take more than half an hour to make!

Hi all,

Here is a game that I made for the first lesson but I think it could be used anytime as a review or a game throughout the topic. Just change my face for someone yours in the where is the teacher bit. Also, attached is a quick worksheet for reading where the students have to choose the right sentence out of the two to represent the picture.

Enjoy.

Hey.

This section seems to be lacking good input so I decided to give an idea.

Here is a game to practice:

(Pair work)

Print out a picture of a table on both sides of a piece of paper. Then get students to secretly draw a watch, bag, cap, pencil etc.. in/on/under the table. Then one student turn over the paper to draw on the blank table. They can ask their partner "Where is my~" and the partner answers according to their own original drawing. Once they finish the partner shows their drawing to the other student and they can check if they have the same drawing.

Then change over.

I hope I explained that well enough.

Haven't tried it yet but I think it will be gold.

Great lesson to teach!

Start with a self-skit. Pretend to lose your own bag. Have the kids help you find things around the classroom. Where's my bag? Where's my watch?

-Introduce new language with PPT
-Textbook videos
-Replace book chant with the chant below
-Drawing activity:
 * You will need plain white paper
 * Students listen and look first to draw the picture.
 * On the reverse side of the paper, students close their eyes and draw the picture         you say (Talk about listening skills!)

Speaking Lesson:
Powerpoint incl. 2 songs and 2 games (printable worksheet)
UPDATE: I'd take out the clap/spin/duck game or change it to pictures instead of words.

Where Is The Snake? SONG
« Reply #14 on: May 18, 2014, 08:41:54 PM »
This song uses cool animals to answer the question, where is the ______ ? Teacher/students can change the animal rhymes to your/their own liking. I hope you like the song.

Suggested order to teach
1. PPT words and sentences
2. CLOZE listen and write
3. LISTEN to MP3
4. VIDEO - Sing!

I had to contain the energy because students were so excited about singing in my class. :-)

Here are two powerpoints that I created for this lesson:

- The first is a listening (& reading) game I called "Listen and Draw". I gave a blank sheet of paper to each student, and I had them draw what is being described in the powerpoint. Then I showed them the answer (also in the powerpoint), and at the end the students that drew the picture correctly got a sticker. There are two rounds to the game.

-The second is a powerpoint explanation I created for the Act and Play activity on page 55. First, you get a student to ask you "where is the _____?" (one of the objects in the picture). Then, let's say they asked you "where is the shirt", you click on that object in the powerpoint, and the line "Where is the ______?" (in this case, "Where is the shirt?") will appear (click the same object again and it will dissapear). You can then simulate a roll of the dice by clicking on one of the numbers at the bottom right of the page. Clicking on 1 gives you a roll of "It's under the table", clicking on 2 gives you "It's on the bed", and clicking on 3 gives you "It's in the cup". Clicking on the same number again will show the dialogue for that roll, and clicking on it a third time will make the die and dialogue dissapear. So, here you can either simulate them having rolled the die correctly, or not. If you simulated a correct roll of the die, then you can click on one of the letter triggers at the bottom of the page to draw a circle around that object (at which point their team would get a point): "d" to put a circle around the doll, "s" for the shirt, "w"for the watch, "p"for the pencil, and "r"for the ruler. As with the other triggers, clicking on these again will make the circle dissapear.
I did all of this so that I can simulate several rounds of the game with my students until they understand how to play. I hope this all made sense!

Thanks for the upload, but it says 'England' next to the Union Flag. Better to say the U.K

But otherwise, thanks. This is a new idea for me!
I'm lovely.

Just a simple intro PPT with vocab and the Look and Listen dialogue. Some slides are borrowed from other PPTs.

On,In,Under Clapping song!

Thanks to whoever originally posted this song! It was a huge hit with all my 4th grade classes! They LOVED this song. It was easy for them to sing along, and they loved clapping along too:)
