Kpop lesson/games?
« on: March 26, 2014, 11:13:34 AM »
Does anyone have a recent ppt, lesson or game related to kpop?  The ones I found through the search on the site seem to be about 3+ years old... which makes me think my students aren't going to be that interested as those bands/songs aren't cool anymore.

I'm not too worried about the theme, it's for an afterschool lesson so I can pretty much do what I want, so I can adapt around whatever resources I find.  I don't really fancy downloading, listening and then cutting a load of kpop just to go into a ppt and was wondering if someone already had...

You mean like a k-pop slam?

i made a cookie version a few months ago that still has all relevant songs if this is what you're looking for;

http://www.myeslgames.com/K-Pop-Cookie-Edition/

Although the instructions arent in the ppt so you kinda gonna explain it to them.

If you don't mind the shameless plug, I did an EXO-themed "bomb game" (with some new groups like Infinite, CN Blue, and B.A.P.) here: http://www.waygook.org/index.php/topic,60794.0.html

Well, if everyone else is just gonna pimp their K-pop games, then I guess I will as well.

No shame in pimping out the kpop slams.. I have used almost all of them and can't get enough of them.

Ha I also can't get enough of them - i feel like I'm constantly cutting videos ha

This particular version has a "Frozen" category - my kids still love that shizzle

Here's the link to download the different videos https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_Z8a3g817tATGVtMWJWVFB1NDg&usp=sharing

The organisation of the files is a bit messy - sorry
There's more videos and sound bites in the folder because there's a different ppt in there with basically the same songs but about half different.

I really appreciate the KPOP slam games. It's a good reward game for my students, if they do their homework and behave in class.

For Kpop slam 2014 there are no videos or music?

my bad, forgot to add them. here's a link to the videos, they need to be in the same folder as the ppt for them to play properly. click on the picture that is above the answer to play the video. on some of the answer slides there is also a "4minute" button you can click on to take you to the "4minute surprise".

btw i didn't make that one, just downloaded it off here. can't find the original thread though.

The Kpop Slam games are great for the end of the semester. Is there an answer key? I'm just not that hip. Thanks

I work at a girls high school, so maybe this could apply for you (if you make it a little easier?)

but my girls love it when i translate lyrics

i break them up into groups of 4~6, and even if some of their levels are low, there's usually at least one who can translate it decently

then i show them a part of the song (translated from korean into english) and they have to guess the singer and the song title. (+5 for the right song, +5 for the right singer) i usually give them about 1 minute or so, and if they really don't know, i'll give small hints like, boy or female/  group, or solo, or unit (a few singers from one group), and a maybe a bit of the dance if i know it. and right before the class ends, i let the winning team choose a song to listen to

i speak a little bit of korean, and i know some groups, so i always make sure it's a part of the song where there's not too much english. then it would be too easy. of course i mix in easy ones, but i always have a few hard ones as well

i try to pay attention to what they talk about in class (in terms of groups) and then i use their songs

btw some relative groups right now are: exo, got 7, btob, infinite, beast, apink, girls day, 2ne1, big bang, vixx, orange caramel, mblaq, iu, shinee, girls generation, block b, b1a4... my girls really like them

here's one example~

I greatly appreciate all the KPOP Slam activities.  However, the boys are usually always feeling frustrated and left out most of the time.

Has anyone made a version that has hip hop, or video game, or anime trivia?

I would love those made and pointed to the right direction please.  Thanks! ^_^
