Listen and Talk 1

I zipped the folder as there are 2 short videos linked in the ppt.
The first is an Earth Day one and the second is Jack Johnson singing the 3Rs song.

There is also a link to a different video I made http://goanimate.com/movie/06tDUGG5rarI/1
It uses the dialogue from the book.

I borrowed HandsomeMichaelTeac her's ppt and edited it a little bit to use with the end of my ppt.

After a quick lesson, we watched the Simpson's episode about recycling gone wrong. Season 8 Episode 21. You can download it off wupload if you google it. Attached is the Korean subtitles.

So the zip is Korean subtitles?
How exactly do I use this   ???
Do you mind directing me?

If you use GOM player or VLC plaver, start the video and then just click and drop the subs into the video.

The ppt's and video suggestions on here are great. This unit isn't the most inspiring to teach  :(

I got my students to design a poster that would help spread the recycling message. I wasn't sure how they would respond but they absolutely loved it! It was a nice break from using a ppt and it allowed my students to be creative. I gave prizes to 1st, 2nd and 3rd best and a class prize (movie lesson!) to the class that put the most effort in.

concentration- matching cards game

Divide the class into small groups. Each group is given a set of cards which are spread out on the table face-down. The sets are made up of two kinds of cards: word cards + definition/picture cards. Students in turn pick up a card, turn it over, and try matching it to its corresponding card. If there's no match, the cards are returned to their original place on the table and play passes to the next student. If a match is made, the student keeps the pair and tries to make another match. Once all the cards are matched, the winner is the player who has matched the most number of cards.

Annekat, awesome lesson-- thank you!!!

I made a worksheet to accompany part of this lesson (where they have to match the pictures to the problem).  On the back (you should print it 2 sided) is titled "Do One Thing" so you can explain to the students that if everyone changes one thing to help the environment, it will help a lot. So they can each write the one thing that they will do and draw a picture (I will recycle paper, I will not waste food, I will not use plastic bags, etc.)  Then you can help them enter their DOTs (Do One Thing) onto this website to share with the world:
