I don't think there is one. I just started to use this book this year.

For my class, I'm teaching grade 1 listening (and maybe speaking) from this book. My content will be on the test in different forms (not listening, just reading and answering).

So far I only did two classes using the CD, or reading the dialogue with a co-teacher. For example, Unit 1 pg. 10 - Listen In 1. (1)(2) me and my coteacher read the text and answer the questions as a whole group, but for 2. (1)(2) I would play the CD since it's long and I repeat it several times. For 2. I would play it usually twice, answer (1), play it again to answer (2), then give them a cloze handout.

It takes some random clicking on the CD to find the dialogue scripts and cloze handouts, but I eventually found them. If someone wants more details I can do that.

Now what I need to try is to do listening/speaking for part of the class, then use the rest of class to make it interesting.

I also can't find a thread for this book.

My school chooses which units in the book they want to focus on rather than doing them in actual order.

I do the functions in the unit - they usually pop up un the listen and speak parts. I don't actually do listen and speak but take the functions from there and make a lesson.

Here is a lesson for Unit 4 - Travel and Safety on expressing relief: I'm relieved to hear that, What a relief, That's a relief. The other function in this unit is on reminders - there's a whole bunch of stuff on waygook for reminders to search for so that's good.

Relief Lesson
- introduce target language
- make dialogue using pictures (ie. it's raining but I have my umbrella what a relief)
- unscramble dialogue
- make dialogue again after watching viral videos (first one is 'my cat saved my son' and second is 'eagle snatches baby' which can both be found on youtube)
- FINAL game
There's a whole bunch of hidden picture/reveal slides which have famous stories/fairytales/folktales
1. Students must guess the picture 2. Students must choose a character 3. students must create a dialogue about how that character was in some trouble, their resolution and express relief.

Cheers

(The file's a bit biggish as some of the photos behind the picture reveal game are large, plus there are quite a few picture reveals just incase I needed to buy more time).

I've started to teach listening/speaking from the textbook one week, and do a powerpoint fun lesson the second week. Here's my lesson for Chapter 4 Safety and Travel, focus is on the Travel.

This lesson worked VERY well, even in my low level classes of "bad boys". I think this is because the lesson is real and something that relates to them. I got the plane ticket prices from www.kayak.com, the other daily costs from www.budgetyourtrip.com, and the accomodation prices were already on this powerpoint from the past. I polished it up and made a new worksheet to make it flow well.

The students choose a city from the top 10 tourist countries and create a budget for 10 days. Because the students enjoyed thinking about travelling so much, it should improve their interest even in their Korean teachers' English classes.
