Hi there,

just started teaching in Korea (in fact this is the first lesson I'm teaching. Having a look at the text book now and trying to figure out how to go about it. I would like to see what you have so far TriKorea but I don't seem to be able to find the attachment, perhaps its just because I'm new and don't know how to download it, so any help would be much appreciated! thanks in advance.

In order to download you have to upload or post 5 things on Waygook first then u can download as many things as u want.

With the book I usually go through excercise B and do some dialogue work with them.  After that do some type of game or activity.

Chapter 7 - Teen Talk.

Week One - "Same Here"
So the plan is to show this whole prezi, then go through the 3 listen and talk sections of "Same Here" in the textbook, using the audio CD.. They are page 128, 134 and 140. The vocab words at the beginning of the prezi are from the title page of the chapter. The rest of the vocab words will be shown in week two.

Link to the Prezi -> http://prezi.com/wk9lsiar0xeq/g3w4/
I saved it as super duper public so you should be able to save your own copy of it and edit it if you wish.

Week Two - "What Do You Think?
So the plan is to show this whole prezi, then go through the 3 listen and talk sections of "What Do You Think?" in the textbook, using the audio CD.. They are page 129, 135 and 141. The vocab words at the beginning of the prezi are from the title page of the chapter.

Here are my ppts and lesson plan for Listen&Talk 1. I took the ppt from TriKorea and just made a few adjustments to fit the way I teach my lessons. Haven't tried this out on my classes yet, but will next week.

My Ss love the Mario game, so here is one for this lesson. The slides that have just a statement or opinion on it they have to use an "agree" or "disagree" dialogue option from the lesson ppt, and they get an extra point if they can give a good reason for their opinion.

I made this worksheet. I'm going to utilize some ppts on this thread and do the pages in the book, then hand this out. Ss should use the dialogue on the top with the debate topics at the bottom. My idea is that they are walking around the room asking other students their opinions on certain topics. I gave the first name as "teacher" for an example.I included 12 mixed level questions to challenge the higher level students. Possible obstacle is the "why" column; students might have difficulty in thinking up reasons. I'm going to have my co-teacher explain the 12 topics on the bottom and I'm also going to elicit some answers for the "Why" column on the board to help them out. The activity could take 20 min-whole period (45 min) depending on how elaborately you explain/elicit vocab.

This Mario Game is absolute genius! I am definitely using it in my review lesson when I go over the whole topic....which looks like it might be this week!

Fantastic work!!!

Middle Earth-themed review game.  I slavishly copied the format of Rampancy's elegant Diablo III game for the template but gave it a fantasy theme.  Thank you Rampancy!  I LOVE your beautiful game templates!  Hope you don't mind that I copied you.

I have used it for speedwriting ( 3 teams, each with a boardmarker, compete simultaneously to write the correct sentence as quickly as possible ).

Hope it helps someone.

Ok, the file is too big, so I removed the music from the powerpoint.  I'll post the audio files separately in case anyone wants to insert them.  The sequence I used was: slide 1 to 5 - Virtue; slide 6 to 15 - Fairy of melted snow; slide 16 to 25 - Foggy Dew and slide 26 to end - Lothlorien on harp.

Can't post the last audio (Virtue) - file is too big.

Anyway, here's a ppt version of the game (previous one is pptx).

First time teaching these books. Teaching this Lesson next week (might come back to edit)

When the slide is Part B: Listen I use the CD from the book.

Found a lesson on waygook from 'lennonladylover' (think that's the user name) about commericals. Great idea. Idea about 'What do you think about music' is from Kelly.
