Does any one else's co-teacher translate everything?  Mine does, so we never have time for games. I also get the feeling she is not a fan of when I put them in groups and ask them to talk about something in their groups, that's why my lessons are a bit cut and dry.

Can anyone recommend any PPT games for this lesson?

Thanks for these TriKorea, aways a massive help. Once I get through my 8 out of school classes a week ill be able to put more time into my other lessons and ill upload them (not that they'll be any good  :D).

My co-teacher doesn't translate everything for me just the activities which is useful. To be honest we are in the classroom to get them to talk english so I can't see why your co-teacher has an issue...maybe she has to do more crowd control? Keep getting them talking, it's what we are paid to do. If she still seems to have an issue maybe talk to her?

I made a couple of worksheets to go with this lesson. The "Do You Mind" wksht can be used by telling students to go around and ask their peers the questions using the dialogue and the given vocab.  It's pretty self-explanatory and easy to understand. I have used a wkshet designed like this before and I didn't have too many problems. Possible problem: students will copy each other instead of talking, so watch for that.

The "I should have done it"  wksht was made for group work, but I suppose you could give it to all students and have them go around the room and ask each other to share their experiences. I'm doing group work and making 6 groups of 6 students, and they will have to pick the best experience and share it with the class. I've done used this before and they really enjoy embarrassing each other  One time, a past student shared how he shit his pants at Lotte World. I was surprised he admitted that, but everyone was laughing and no one was mean. I'm going to give one sheet to every student to encourage all students to write, but it also works if you give one sheet per group. You can have them pick one student to write, but then the others have to do all the talking (this is good if you have a higher level student in a group of lower level students), or have each person pass the paper around and take turns writing and speaking. Each method can be used differently to control class management, that's why I offer different methods.  I also included some Korean instructions on the second wkshet to cut down on potential co-teacher's talk time.

Here is my powerpoint for unit 8.  I started the class with an intro into Do you mind, i do mind, and i don't mind.  Then quizzed them using the example dialogues with celebrities (celeb photos always get their attention!).  The went over the exercises in the book with them.  I asked review questions at the end to make sure they understood.

For "i should have done it", i also started with an intro into the expression and had the kids repeat the expression after me.  I then made some of my own examples and had them complete the sentence to make sure they understood.  After that, we did the book listening and talking exercises.

I cannot tell you how this have helped me. I was given a book with no instructions and spent everyweek searching, interpreting, guessing, overlapping, etc. until more materials for my book posted on this forum. The only thing I'm left to do is find conversational worksheets or make my own from www. englishbananas.com. Please don't stop because I do not have the time to be creative like you people.  :D
