Job lesson
« on: April 07, 2011, 04:31:03 PM »
this is a pretty simple lesson plan for lower level students about jobs.  i usually start the class with "occupation charades"  where i write down different jobs and get students to act them out.  then i go through the slideshow and get the students to talk about each job: what they do and where they work.  as a speaking exercise at the end i have the students write down a description of their future job (what they will do and where they will work) and they take turns guessing what each other wants to be when he/she grows up.

A quick ppt that has you question students on different occupations.  Also they have a activity at the end that has them practice speaking skills while describing different jobs.

My kids and I had been going through jobs and I asked them what they all wanted to be. They gave me answers and as I have smallish classes I was able to make individual worksheets for them. I am posting just a few basic ideas/questions that they had to full out. I helped them with this having the entire class work through each worksheet together to help the student who wanted that job. Then they had to take their answers and make a full paragraph with it. I marked this and once it was handed back they had to read it to the class like an oral.
